The son of a once wealthy family is found dead in Central Park. As Castle and Beckett are working on the investigation his friends are trying to stop them. Castle isn't sure he can trust Martha to be left alone while he chaperones Alexis' class on a field trip to Washington DC.

I am. I voted Above Average. Not really a whole lot to say about it. It's fluff TV with charming leads so it doesn't bear a whole lot of deep analysis. It's good fluff though so I'll keep watching it.

I will say that having Castle's daughter freak out over lying about stealing a subway ride was kind of an interesting twist in the other direction. I was half expecting her to be whacked out on the smack!

Not as fun as the last two, but still pretty decent. I really like Castle's daughter. Most TV kids are usually annoying as heck.

For what it is, it's an enjoyable show.

I'm liking the interaction between Castle and his daughter. It seems like he did something right when raising her.

I agree, interesting dynamic. Sometimes the most irresponsible people can make fantastic parents and sometimes the best people don't have a clue.

The weakest episode of the bunch, but I still find it entertaining enough to keep going. Fluff popcorn TV for a night when nothing else is on.

Loved it! I agree it is fluff. But it gives you what you want and have you wanting more.

Can't wait for next episode.

Edit: thanks Aragorn for putting these up. I usually watch them on Tuesday or Wed. after I dl them.

Above Average

Daughter's freak out was fun.

As for Mom's (non=party) guests...how many people show up in a clump like that?

Not as entertaining as the first two as to the main plot. Smart smarmy rich kids has been done. But I liked Castle's family scenes and am glad those characters haven't been relegated to the background [yet].

We still know little of Beckett. Did she really go to a prep school or was she really just playing the kids? Hopefully her backstory won't be dumped on us in one lump sum.

I want another poker game!

Castle's next poker game can be with Tim Minear and Joss Whedon, two TV producers who attempted to turn his books into shows, only to have the networks cancel them after a brief run.

Ohh and then they both get murdered and Castle has to find out who was the murderer. A deranged fan? The studio execs who never achieved the cult following? An angry actor who should've been chosen as Buffy.

The list could go on.

I've realized that the Castle family is a sitcom. You have the goofy, immature male lead. His ice-bitch ex-wife who hates him. The picture-perfect Mensa genius daughter who keeps him on track. The eccentric mom who moves in and anoys him daily. And then he leaves into the "real world" to look at dead bodies and solve crimes all day.

If this were a half-hour format, it'd compete with Scrubs. If it were on the Family Channel, it'd have Mylie Cyrus. Yikes!

The ex-wife was in the pilot. The blonde who was also his publicist or publisher or something.

It was OK, not as good as the other two but fun anyway.

It reminded me of a slapstick comedy sketch though, they seemed to spend the whole episode running from suspect to suspect hurling false accusations at them, had they sped the film up and had Benny Hill music playing in the background it would not have been out of place.

With that smarmy rich kid (who I thought was acted well enough that I really did want to reach in and smack him), Castle's comment of "I hate him" was great as it was exactly what I was feeling. Great character to watch.
