Detective Beckett discovers that a string of seemingly unrelated murders all have one thing in common -- every victim voted thumbs down for Stana Katic on the Trek BBS "genre babe of the week" poll.

Castle and Beckett investigate the mysterious death of an Arctic explorer during an expedition. The investigation leads them in many interesting directions including Park Avenue and the CIA. Things really gets frustrating when Castle wonders if the killer is fooling all of them.

Well, of course I have to DVR it, Monday night football takes precedence around here, but I'm still looking forward to it.

A wild, twisty case, but as usual the most fun was in the character stuff. It was sad to see Castle and Alexis having a fight when they've always gotten along so beautifully -- but I loved the interrogation room scene, with Castle in the place of the guilty perp and Alexis in the place of the interrogator breaking him down. That was a crowning moment of awesome for her. I think I'm even a little bit scared of her now, but I like it.

And Heat Wave is a trade paperback? Hunh. I was expecting a hardcover. After all, the version they're actually selling in real life is a hardcover according to Amazon.com.

I think the copy she was reading in trade paperback size is a proof and not the Hardback they will be featuring next week at the book launch.

That CIA cover story with who the children's parents are is actually pretty clever. Maybe that'll be the subject of the next Castle novel -- Confidential Heat.

On a side note, castletv.net posted a picture of Castle's costume for the Halloween episode and...

...I wonder how they'll even explain it on the show if at all: THE LINK TO THE PICTURE.

I was annoyed they didn't get Susan on the murder. They have enough to get her for the con. But we didn't see any evidence linking her to the murder.

Yes, she is suspect number one, but from what we have been shown of Beckett's personality, she shouldn't have been satisfied until she had built the murder case.

But then it would just be loose manuscript pages.

Ahh, here we are... sometimes a new book will be published in both hardcover and trade simultaneously to reach a wider audience.

The copy that Castle gave her was an Advance Review Copy (ARC) sometimes known as an Advance Reader's Copy similar to this. They're generally sent out to reviewers or to other writers in hopes of getting a blurb for the sales copy and they're often printed from uncorrected proofs with typos that won't appear in the published version.

If a title is eagerly anticipated, ARCs can sell for a lot on Ebay.

Has the book within a show ever been published, and hit on the NYT Best seller list while the show is in first run before?

I think that the dynamic relationship between castle and his daughter is one of the best things about this show. That whole tear down moment in the interrogation room was so strong and real, and nathan nailed his reactions to a tee almost totally line less.

I don't remember the title but wasn't there a book that one of the characters on 'Lost' was reading that was hugely popular when it actually came out?

Ok, I really enjoyed this one. The dynamic between Castle and Alexis was well done and well played by both of them. It's really good to see a human side of Castle instead of all his "twisted steel and sex appeal" side. I found it funny that his mother finally got to play the responsible one for a change too. The mystery was quite good and threw me for a change.

Oh, I do so hope that's the halloween costume and not some sort of red herring to throw people off, that's awesome. I hope there's an explanation for the costume in the show that gives a nod to Firefly somehow too.

I'd laugh if no one gets who he is... Like they've all never heard of the show, and he goes on a brown coat rant.

Supposedly there was some sort of firefly reference in this episode which Nathan tweeted about.
