Caring for an NFL jersey

Hey, quick question for everyone. I have several football jerseys, and they all have an issue of the numbers or the name on it "tearing"/ peeling away, and I'm not sure what causes that. I just recently got a new one (less than two months ago), and the name is already starting to develop tears.

Does anyone know what causes this and how to prevent/ fix this? What are good ways to take care of the jerseys?

Crazy glue? Also, wash and dry them inside out.

I agree with washing them inside out, and maybe in a pillowcase. Maybe iron them inside out and not on the numbers. Also, I guess that you followed the care instructions? If you lost them you could always have a look at the ones in the stores that still have their labels to see what they say (I've done this myself).

Wash them as seldom as possible.

But to be honest, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Imo a jersey looks better when it shows some wear and doesn't look like you just bought it before the game
