I painted this portrait of Captain Picard this morning. I was happy with this as a quick painting. I was a little sloppy with proportions and measuring but I was very pleased with the colors of the uniform.
Even for a quick painting, it is instantly recognizable as Picard/Patrick Stewart, so even though the proportions may not be perfect, you've still captured the features nicely. The shading gives a good sense of depth, especially on the right arm (right of the image, not his right arm). It actually looked quite realistically shaded there.
It's a pretty great painting. But yeah, definately need to find another color to do the shadows on the face.
