Captain Janeway uses the spore drive

I think someone posted that in the fanfic creation thread pinned to the top of the forum a few months ago. But it is brilliant. :lol:

On another board, I caught some flak for posting Major Grin videos. It's oddly comforting to know that doesn't carry over here.

Really depends on who's in the thread... XD
(Just a few days ago, 6 or so people were convinced he's unprofessionally editing finished stuff with the purpose of improving it)

<Senior officers' briefing, ready room>
Torres: "After investigating the fragmented historical records of the spore drive that survived, it turns out that we can go home, but at a steep price. We need a compatible pilot to interface with the mycelium network in order to control our destination, and due to our lack of hands-on experience, chances are rather high that pilot might go blind, or worse, won't even survive the ride. Also, it turns out that the only genetically compatible person on board would be Neelix."
Janeway: I see, but why don't you tell us about that steep price we'd have to pay?

Finally a useful function for Neelix

Funny, but it should be Harry. Given his long string of romantic catastrophes, his multiple dances with the Grim Reaper, and Janeway's inexplicable determination to keep him at ensign until the heat death of the universe, they needed to finish him off in a truly appalling manner.

OK.

But only if Janeway tries to tempt him by promising him a posthumous promotion to Lt. (junior grade) for his heroic self-sacrifice. (Whispering in his ear: you know that's the only way you'll be getting a promotion from me, Harry!)

Why are we all so horrible to poor Harry? :evil:
