Can't stop the kitbashing. Again.

Please forgive me for the name and number - I can't always be clever!

It's about time you had something to show us..you went from knocking out 3-4 models in a one shot to nothing for months.

But seriously once again another great model.:techman:

Awesome! Do you have a history in mind for this ship? Your models are fantastic but your "fluff" text really adds even more polish . :)

I guess I telpathically knew this would have something to do with the Constitution.
Very very slick as usual.

Nice work JP.

Did you drill all those holes in the nacelle end-caps, or are they an aftermarket part?

Cheers!

Jim.

Damn I wish I had the patience and talent to do that. Great work there.
Looking forward to seeing some Schematic views and specs. What is she
a Cruiser, Battlecruiser, explorer ? Again Great work Keep it up

You and me both! I've been in one hell of a slump this year. Hope I get out of it, with, like, 2,000 unbuilt kits laying around!

Nope, no background. I've just been wanting to try something low and lean like that for a while.

Nice work JP.

The Polar Lights kit comes with all 3 styles of endcaps! No extra work needed at all.

What else could the Columbus be but an explorer? :)

Thanks, kids! :)

It is a really nice design.

The pylons look like they could be burned off by the impulse engine's exhaust though; perhaps in a different version of the ship the pylons could be angled slightly downwards. :)

Beautiful ship! Though I doubt that Starfleet would name one of their vessels after a racist slaving genocidal asshole.

Yeah, I had thought of that. But then if the ship is part of the TOS era, and TOS was created in the 1960s before we thought of Columbus that way....

Kinda putting my head into the era.

Ahhhh, the return of Forbin....

Nicely done; great attention to details. One question: What did you use to get the shape of the front portion of the secondary hull? Looks really nice.

Damn that looks so much like the chopped connie I made a long time ago, I made a Connie TOS that had almost the same nacelle arrangement. I chopped the neck down to 1/2 height and also chopped the saucer to make it thinner. I also put twin impulse engines on it. DAMN!!! When I get my Digital Camera I am going to post some of my frankensteiny creations of my youth. Stuff I haven't done in almost 10 years.

Very interesting design. This could also serve as a TOS rendition of the Sultana warptug, or a close relative of same.

I would suggest one touch to give this ship a little something that connects the "boxer" nacelle orientation to the old NX-Alpha and Cochrane's Phoenix: rotate the aft nacelle caps 90 degrees so that the long tips point away from each other.

Great design.
