Apologies for posting this here, but awareness must be raised.

In October, the Canadian regulatory body, the CRTC has allowed big cable & internet service providers to forcibly impose low caps on the use of Canadians and to be able to charge per gigabyte the amount of data you use. This will especially affect those who engage in media for work or for play, video games, streaming movies, youtube, etc... This also means you will quickly use up your allotted bandwidth with media ads downloaded *without* your consent. You will even be charged for anti-virus ware updates! Basically put, you are being charged twice!

Paying online bills, homework and even social networking sites like this one are about to become very expensive.

Stand up and be counted. Pressure needs to be put upon the MP's and ISP's to reverse this decision.

Stop the meter on Canada's internet use.

You know, this is the kind of spam I hate...

This isn't spam sir, it's quite true.

The Canadian members of this forum are looking at having their internet costs tripled. A problem which will be prevalent in United States soon enough. Media uploads will be charged by the byte, and already services like NetFlix are feeling the pinch. Streaming media will be a thing of the past, and online fanfilms trailing not far behind.

If you're Canadian, and have no issues with you bill tripling, then do nothing...

John Nemo, you've been opening this topic in multiple fora, and the sad thing is that you've picked the wrong forum both times so far. If you want, reopen a new thread in Misc. where it won't be off topic.
And yes, this whole net gimping thing of Rogers is a pain in my red and white behind as well, even though I'm in the States (I have family in Canada of course)
