Canadian Football League 2011 discussion

Well the officials scored a major right at the end of the second half in the Argos game tonight.

^ Edmonton was on Toronto's 1, after a debatable pass interference call (though that's nothing new) right at the end of the half. The Argos D manages to stuff the run twice, amazingly enough, and on the second play the clock runs down and the ref waves that it's the end of the half, and Toronto leaves the field. But then the official timekeeper calls down and says there's 1.5 seconds left, the players have to come back on the field, and Edmonton scores. Jim Barker also argued that the clock didn't run correctly on the previous two plays, incidentally.

It was all very bush league, really, and may have decided the outcome of the game.

Ouch, that sucks. Stopping the drive there could have been a nice boost to Toronto going into the 2nd.

^ Indeed. It was mostly the fact that the ref had signaled the end of the half that got me. If you do that, you have to be sure the damn half is over.

Ok, that first quarter wasn't all that great. But the rest of the game? Pure awesome, especially that TD run by Pierce. :D

With this win, we are officially better than last year. :techman:

(And bonus! Pierce survived the game!)

Well, the Argos beat the Riders last night. All they need to do now is beat the Lions to prove that they aren't the worst team in the league. ;)

How did it feel to be in a playoff spot for 24 hours? :p

And in other news, Edmonton got crushed by BC last night: 36-1. Ouch.

Ah, it's good to be on top. 7-1 for the Bombers so far this season. A far cry from 4-14 last year. Though the offense is still trying to find a groove, the defense saved the game last night with forcing that fumble at the one yard line.

Next up: Saskatchewan.
