Can you play a reduced version of Online without paying subscription?

Re: Can you play a reduced version of Online without paying subscripti

Last I heard, the answer was yes, but it's very very very reduced. There's a tutorial mission, then you're stuck flying around the sol system.

If you bought the game, it came with a 30 day free trial. PM me or most anyone else in these threads if you want to try a 10 day 'buddy pass' to try it out before you buy...

The Devs mentioned expanding that to have more stuff you can do.

Is there a preview level or basic version of the game included?

The current demo has the game Tutorial, then the "S.S. Azura" mission, and that's it. After that you need a friend referal key; or an active sub.

That said, I think you can find the STO game online for between $5.00 and $7.50; and it comes with 30 days (you have to use acredit card ore pay pal to set up a subscription, but you're not charged until the 30 days are up; and if you're concerned, you can cancel and you'll still get the remainder of the 30 days without being charged.

Re: Can you play a reduced version of Online without paying subscripti

I just wish you could pay a one-off $30 fee for a copy of the game and "complete" the missions etc without the hassle of building characters and doing things for points to buy new costumes etc. (This was the worst thing about Grand Theft Auto 4?) where you had to go to the gym and press the a+d keys to wiggle his arms repeatedly for 10mins every other day - t.e.d.i.o.u.s!!! Give me direct gameplay and a storyline any day. :)

GTA San Andreas had you eat and gain weight, so you had to go to the gym to lose the puonds...
I just used a cheat code...

It wouldn't be an MMO if it was like that. Making the character and getting costumes and leveling him up is a huge part of the genre.
