Can someone photoshop a "dark, gritty" Superman?

Sgt. Sacrament

Okay, there have been posts about how the Superman films may/will be rebooted following "Superman Returns" being less than a mega blockbuster, and how the success of "The Dark Knight" is having an affect on many other comic book franchises, such as Superman. So, can someone photoshop a picture of Brandon Routh as a "Dark Knight"-ed version of a darker, grittier Superman? Perhaps a black or dark grey suit with blood red features?

Note that this request (should anyone take it up) is all in good fun... I don't think that they should necessarily take Superman in this direction (i.e. Batman is much more suited for the DK approach)... Thanks!

IIRC, Superman Returns tried the dark and grittier approach. The Man of Steel turned to be an emo stalker who probably washed his Supe's suit with his Daily Planet suits and messed the colors. Hell, even the director of photography took the dark and gritty route too seriously.

there is this guy, from Tim Burton

Its funny Tim Burton problay has enough good will right now to give this idea a shot, im guessing this guy had more depth to his "dark" than Superman Returns.

^Thank god that never made it to the screen. Unless of course they had billed it as an Elseworld kind of adventure, then I might have been interested.

it certainly would not have been a sequel to any of the other Superman movies, it would probaly be billed as TIM BURTONS new look at one of americas greatest heroes Superman, with Tim Burton in very large letters. Those clone teens who think they are rebellious & dark just because they saw Nightmare Before Christmas would have flocked to it, as they do anything made by Tim Burton.

Fuck you Tim Burton!

Fuck you up the ass with a Red-Kryptonite shaft!

as of a few days ago it doesn't look like there will even be another superman movie. warner brothers has announced that they are putting all their superhero films on hold until they can devise a new plan for developing them.

Not as far as I'm aware. They've got a Green Lantern movie in active development, for one thing, as well as a few others that haven't been announced yet.

I don't know if I'd call it Dark and Gritty, as I understand the term, so much as downbeat and introspective. Dulled uniform colors or not, he was more likely in that film to look inward with some degree of self pity, than, say, tear off Luthor's arm. He was the same boyscout, just a somewhat mopey one.

not anymore they don't. they have all been put on hold.:(

*sigh* Superman IS NOT Batman. I don't mind more serious-toned Superman films (if it gets us away from nonsensical Lex Luthor realty plots - that IS good). But these are two rather different heroes.

your 100% right. the whole luthor thing was played out after superman 2 and superman indeed is not batman. batman is dark and brooding while superman is a force for "truth, justice ,and the american way!":techman:
