Can I start Reading the Titan Series

You can read most of the Titan novels without Typhon Pact. More important are the Destiny novels. They are great and include Will Riker and his Titan crew.
The Typhon Pact novels are of different quality, but some are awesome, so you can read them later. In any case Destiny before Typhon Pact.

And there are other members in this forum who can help you with further questions about the reading order. I'm not a chronology fan myself.

If you've seen Star Trek: Nemesis, you can go right into Titan from there. There are six Titan novels (plus the Destiny trilogy) before the one under the Typhon Pact banner, and that one is really just about the Gorn with only passing mentions of the Pact. The ones after that are more closely intertwined with the other novels, though.

(The original idea behind Typhon Pact was to do a set of standalone tales with a loose unifying theme, so that you could read as many or as few as you wished. The later ones did tie things together more closely.)

Just for clarity's sake, here is a list of each Titan novel, including the ones that aren't under the banner of "Star Trek: Titan" but which are nonetheless about the Titan and her crew.

  • Taking Wing by Micahel A. Martin and Andy Mangels (2005)
  • The Red King by Michael A. Martin and Andy Mangels (2005)
  • Orion's Hounds by Christopher L. Bennett (2006)
  • Sword of Damocles by Geoffrey Thorne (2007)
  • Destiny: Gods of Night by David Mack (2008)*
  • Destiny: Mere Mortals by David Mack (2008)*
  • Destiny: Lost Souls by David Mack (2008)*
  • Over a Torrent Sea by Christopher L. Bennett (2009)
  • Synthesis by James Swallow (2009)
  • Typhon Pact: Seize the Fire by Michael A. Martin (2010)*
  • Fallen Gods by Micahel A. Martin (2012)
  • The Fall: The Poisoned Chalice by James Swallow (2013)*
  • The Fall: Peaceable Kingdoms by Dayton Ward (2013)*
  • Absent Enemies by John Jackson Miller (eBook, 2014)
  • The Next Generation: Takedown by John Jackson Miller (2015)*
* = Not published under the Star Trek: Titan banner, but still features the Titan crew and is essentially a part of the ST:TTN narrative.

The TTN entry in the Typhon Pact series, Seize the Fire, does not cross over with the other Typhon Pact novels in any meaningful way. The two TTN entries for The Fall do, but are written so that you can skip the first three Fall novels (Revelation and Dust by David R. George III, The Crimson Shadow by Una McCormack, and A Ceremony of Losses by David Mack) without any real problem.

There is a significant time jump between Fallen Gods and The Poisoned Chalice whose events have not yet been chronicled.

^There are multiple time jumps within Titan. There's an 8-month jump between Sword of Damocles and Gods of Night, and about a year's jump between Synthesis and Seize the Fire. It's really very episodic for the most part, although with progressive changes in the character arcs.
