Campaign to get Star Trekkin' to the top of the charts

Never mind a campaign to save Enterprise.... here's a cause sure to unite us all!!!!

In celebration of the release of the new movie 'Star Trek' on May 8th I thought that we should all log on to itunes and get the infamous Star Trekkin' single from 1987 to the top of the music charts!

Log on to iTunes with your account and search for Star Trekkin' and download the Dr. Demento version (The single, not the whole album!) - we all need to download the same one in order to move the song up in the charts!

Back in 1983 Simon Bates, then a BBC Radio 1 DJ, took the song under his wing with the result that it became an instant hit, spending two weeks at number one on the UK Singles Chart and becoming the ninth best-selling single of 1987 in the UK.

Lets see if we can repeat this success in 2009!

Nope, just the single not the whole album... this kind of thing has been done before for other songs. And since we can't all say we're Jedi, I guess this would be a fun bit of publicity for the new movie if it works!

Never underestimate the power of the internet! :D
