Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (Spoilers)

So, after Black Ops 2 was patched to include Snapchat codes that led to teasers on the Treyarch website, a full teaser trailer has been rolled out through a new code.

A full game reveal will happen later this month, but basically everyone was expecting this as the title reveal. Blops has given some of the best gameplay outside of the Modern Warfare trilogy and after Advanced Warfare's shaky pay-to-win/gunmod controversy, it'll be awesome to see what a more traditional game will bring to the PS4/XBone.

Sorry that this is a commentary video as well, but the trailers are linked to Blops 2 itself.

Nintendo account registration/linking has appeared on callofduty.com, so there are rumours a port might be coming to the Wii U.

Wow, I don't whether to be worried there or not.

Advanced Warfare had two versions developed though, one for the PS3/XB360 which was butchered to all buggery and ran terribly in every way, leaving the perfectly good version to run fine on the consoles it was meant for.

Hopefully that's what they're doing with the Wii U version, keeping the good ones that work for the PS4/XB1.

I'd hate for this to go all Sonic 4 on the franchise and release one overall crappy game that has to reach down so far to Nintendo's level it ruins the gameplay.

Yeah, ports of the CoD games to Nintendo have never been good from my understanding. Then again, Nintendo doesn't have any games worthy of my consideration either, so I'm not worried if they get a piss poor port or not. :)

The most disappointing thing about this announcement/reveal is that it means at least another 3 years before a possible World at War 2 from Treyarch.

Kinda bored of Modern/Advanced/Future warfare at this point. Needs to go back to basics.

Don't worry. Plastic instrument games are making a comeback, mainstream WWII shooters will as well.

There was a lot of eager anticipation for this to be a full on Gen8 World War 2 game. Whether or not it was World at War 2 didn't seem to matter.

I would have liked to have seen that too actually, with more emphasis on the campaign at first, with a good but much simpler multiplayer for the 3 years after that.

Advanced Warfare has gone insane with pay to win and they've announced yet more "Elite" weapon variants that matter terribly little.

But, leaks from the site are showing bionics will be a big thing, instead of the Exo's from AW. Augmented soldiers with less bouncy movements and heavier weaponry might be better, if they take a more straight forward approach, Treyarch might do that.

I have a lot of time for Treyarch. World at War and Black Ops are without a doubt my two favourite CoD games. And as much as I loved Spec Ops in the Modern Warfare games, Treyarch's Nazi Zombie mode just appealed to me a lot more - including the top-down arcade-style zombie game you could unlock in Black Ops.

Honestly, all I really want to see is a move away from MMO-esque leveling for multiplayer. The great thing about Halo 2's multiplayer is that it was entirely skill-based; people who had been playing for a while didn't have any boosts over newcomers. Nowadays with Call of Duty (and just about every other shooter on the market), if you don't get into the multiplayer scene on launch day, you're boned the first time you log on.

Nice little teaser ahead of the reveal on the 26th...

I was wondering how they would handle a futuristic setting again after Advanced Warfare, complete bodily augmentation seems a good way to do that.

The Perks system will feature more heavily in this one I presume, with them being augmentations giving you night vision, greater strength or speed in more noticable ways etc

Maybe certain perks/enhancements can work with certain aspects of the map, needing a team to spread out abilities to make them work?

It'll be interesting to see what they do with this. It is going down the darker more ambigious route of the Blops series, the campaign should be good.

Double post, sorry.

Official Reveal!
