It's not actually a terrible game. Aside from their decision to not allow people to use face buttons to punch, it's a pretty fun game with a ton of upgrades from the last one. The only problem is that it's a glitchy pile of crap.
1. Freezing on start-up. People are getting this all over the place. It was a problem people were having with the demo, but everyone figured it would be fixed by launch. NOPE! For me I just had to disconnect from the internet. Others have had to reformat their hard drives. yet others have had to delete their custom music tracks. On top of that, some people are getting red ringed from taking the customer support advice on how to fix the problem. Way to go.
2. Game breaking glitch in career mode. Take a surprise fight challenge, happen to schedule it on a training day... game over for your career. System will no longer allow you to progress as it just endlessly loops on that one day. The overzealous autosave system will insure that it's too late to back out now. Career over!
3. In career mode the game sometimes doesn't access certain sound files correctly. So instead of getting a bell dinging in a pro-fight at the beginning and end of a round, you get a very loud electronic beep from the amateur fights. And when I mean loud, I'm talking sometimes 2-3 times as loud as the rest of the volume. Wow, very professional.
4. When you're creating a boxer and you're trying to match a face picture, if the reference points are too crazy the face will never finish rendering and you'll have to re-start the system.
Stuff people are complaining about but I haven't encountered: Fighters randomly being rendered with no hair, just hair texture. Invisible fighters. Game freezing all over the place. Stats being accounted wrong all over the place. Being credited for wins/loses incorrectly.
That's it for now, which is pretty pitiful considering I've only played this game for 3 hours so far. Nice.
It's really sad, because they really did add lots of cool stuff to this franchise. It's just unfortunate that they did such a horrible job implementing it all. They're lucky this game released after e3 or they would have gotten reamed for their crap. I'd pass on this game till a patch comes out.
