Did no one watch it? At any rate...

Reuters article

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - He plays the coolest guy on TV. Now Jeffrey Donovan has a cool new salary to match.

The star of USA Network's breakout hit "Burn Notice" has renegotiated his pact with the series producer, Fox TV Studios.

Under the new agreement, Donovan will be paid $125,000-$150,000 an episode, a big bump from the $55,000 he used to make.

Donovan's new deal also adds one more year to his original seven-year contract for the show.

I had to record it, so I'll watch it this weekend.

Glad Jeffrey got a raise. He found a perfect match with this show.

But seven years? Not sure if there's seven years worth of stories here.

Seven years of chasing after whoever burned him? Ugh.

But seven years of summer seasons helping people with his unique skill set, oh, yes.

Seymour's back, no Carla, matching throwing daggers! Good times.

Above average.

The wife and I both cracked up at the buxom receptionist/daughter/victim being named "Melon-ey", I mean, Melanie...

I loved most of the episode.

Especially the part with Seymour

Michael: "You got hollow points in there?"

Seymour (surprised, taking the gun off Michael) "Really, you can tell just by looking".

Seymore to his bodyguard overpowered again by Fiona

"Hey Jackass, get up and make some smoothies"

To Michael "You like mango".

Overall, it was great.

Except for the end of the art gallery caper.

How many times have we seen Michael manipulate one bad guy into murdering another bad guy? Something like 10 times in less than two seasons.

Why not just have Michael kill the bad guys himself? After all, is that any worse that having Michael set up situations where someone else actually pulls the trigger?

OK...just finished it. I love the stuff with Seymour, but the caper was a bit on the thin side. You knew the guy was a baddie the moment you laid eyes on him.

I like how they are finally getting somewhere with the Michael/Fiona relationship. It's nice to Michael as the needy one, even if only for a few seconds.

I wish they'd spent more on the bomber caper and less on the art gallery---that story was pretty weak.

But, overall, still a very enjoyable hour, and it was nice to see "Mr. Friendly" again. :techman:

They do seem to go out of the way to avoid having Michael kill anyone outright..outside of those guys in the bathroom in the pilot episode(who we didn't see him kill but it was cllear he did) and the guy who attacked him....I guess since this isn't a "dark and gritty" series they don't want their hero to be killing people with his own hands every week.

Yeah it was pretty clear Michael killed the two guys in the pilot who he lured into the bathroom.

He also killed the agent sent to assassinate him who gave the appearance of being a govt. paper pusher.

And most certainly the drug runner in the Season One finale who had kidnapped Sam.

By the way,

I suppose everyone by now has figured out who really burned Michael?

It has been obvious for some time.

Who is it? I still haven't figured it out and I have been watching it since the beginning. Please spoiler code it for me.

It didn't really occur to me until this episode, but after her fortune cookie scene, my money's on Fiona.

Completely off topic - HOW many leading male characters are named Michael?!?! Can't people think of another name? :scream: ;)

Exactly correct.

It all ties in with countless references if you continually go back and look at the episodes.

Motive, means, opportunity, plus an array of "coincidences" which can't be ignored.

It can't realistically be Carla's group. Look at all the references Carla has made. She has never outright lied to Michael, nor has she ever claimed her group was behind his burn notice. Her people merely want Michael as an "off the books" asset.
