Michael helps a single father named Kenny, whose son suffers from a heart condition. Kenny lost his savings to conmen after investing in a "miracle drug" for his son.

FYI, if you're on the west coast and get USA HD, you can watch the show at 7 p.m. since the HD channel is the east coast broadcast.

Hmmm... that was a faster return to the formula following a cliffhanger than even Smallville! Someone tries to blow up Michael and he's back to his people-helping before the first commercial break.

Granted, it's not a reset button like Smallville or Voyager, but still...

Yeah, it was a little bit fast.

I loved Sam's interrogation techniques, though.
And poor Fi loses another boyfriend. The changing of the titles was cute.

If they want to get soapy, by the time Fiona realizes Michael is the one for her, he'll be in bed with Carla.

Also, KaDee Strickland (Private Practice) should play Tricia Helfer's sister in something.

I liked it for the most part. Sam, as always, delivers.

I just don't understand why The Mysterious Third Party(tm) set up the bomb and then... nothing. Are we supposed to assume the cars chasing Michael early in the episode was the same party? They seemed to be the goons working for Carla to me.

I don't know. It's just odd. If you're going to go through the trouble of making a very obvious and public assassination attempt, it only makes sense that you have a backup plan for it. Like, say, a sniper. Or just about anything. Not some lame car chase that winds up being utterly pointless.

I'm still waiting for it to be revealed that Michael's mother is really the mastermind behind the whole thing.:guffaw:

I voted average. There was just too much time wasted on the Carla arc.
Some third party blowing up Westen could be expained---they thought he was the real sniper's backup, since they saw he had access to the sniper nest. But the tipoff to Michael about the boobytrapped door provided by the arrest of little brother makes no sense. Nor, as pointed out, did the subsequent car chase. Perhaps the most offensive thing about that was the way Michael's door could blow up but there was no problem with firemen or cops called by passers by. Leaving that kind of gaping hole has been uncharacteristic of the show's writing in the past. Tsk tsk.

If they have to fart around with Carla, they need to minimize her and bring back Shanks. The more we see of Carla, the less I believe in her. Poor old Tricia Helfer really hasn't gotten much of an acting education yet. Shanks character was much more entertaining and a better foil for Michael.

i agree with the above.
the whole assination thing while it will be ongoing just seemed to fade pretty fast.
but since that is inferior to the fun of watching michael help people in his own unique way i was fine with that.
when carla showed up i wanted her gone to get back to the father and his sun and them playing mind games on the creeps.
