Bryan Singer interested in returning to "X-Men"

I watched some bits and pieces of X2 last night, and it just reminded me how it is perhaps my favorite live action superhero movie.

Sure, Singer has problems doing full bore straight up huge action. But I think that if the script required it he could raise to the occasion. And the best thing about the action he does shoot is that it has a weight and heft to it that many other movies do not have, I'm looking at you X3. Nightcrawler's opening attack and the mansion attack are just brimming with creativity and fun.

Bring Singer back to X-Men and give him free reign to do what he wants.

I'm just kinda waiting to see what Singer comes up with next. So far, I've absolutely adored his work on X-Men, X2, Superman Returns, & Valkyrie. I'd love to see him return to the X-Men franchise. I'd be even happier if Warner Bros. would get off their asses and bring him back for another Superman film! But I'll be on board for whatever comes next so long as it maintains that same balance of fun & depth as his last 4 movies. (The Mayor of Castro Street doesn't interest me as much.)

It might be too expensive to bring back the main cast for X4.

Of course if they really want to save money just recast everyone except for the actors that played Xavier, Magneto and Wolverine. It would be a good idea to keep those actors for as long as possible.

Maybe he should make X3 and ignore the Ratner movie.

Make a sequel to the first two entries in a series and ignore a subsequent film, just because it was of lesser quality? Nah, I can't imagine Singer would ever do something like that...

;)

And I remember that movie you referring to being garbage and even Walmart $4 section had 100 copies of it.

And I wouldn't think it would be that expensive to bring back Famke Janssen & James Marsden if they needed to. Shawn Ashmore is still kinda waiting for his big break it seems. (And even if he doesn't want to come back, he has an identical twin who is also an actor.;)) The only actor that I think would be really super expensive to bring back is Halle Berry and she never should have been cast as Storm in the first place.

I have to say no. Start over. Do something different. Ignore the previous films but don't be spiteful towards them per se. Different actors, different director.

It seems like reboots are the answer to everything these days.:rommie:

Heck, Marvel is trying to get back as many of their properties as they can for the new Movieverse they're making now starting with Iron Man and Hulk. They're rebooting Fantastic Four in the new verse they've made so X-Men would be a nice addition as well.

As far as I know, Fox still has the rights to Fantastic Four, and they're the ones contemplating the reboot...?

Well the ending with Magneto did leave the possibility the cure would lose its effectiveness in time for all or some of the mutants so that gives Bryan Siger a chance to create a new war lead by Magneto and he could give us the finale he intended.

Such a pity WB couldn't wait to make Superman Returns till after X MEN 3 because despite liking X-3 I would of loved to see Singer's ending to his trilogy.

Too bad, the Marvel movie Studio knows how to handle its characters better than the guys they licensed them out to in the first place.
