Bottersnikes and Gumbles = Jem'hadar and Changelings

The first time I saw the Jem'hadar I thought of Bottersnikes. They are these scaly skinned cantankerous critters that laze about the Australian outback and look just like the Jem'hadar. They gripe a lot in their search for an easy life, and to do so they try and enslave the Gumbles.

Gumbles are soft putty like good natured critters that can be squeezed into any shape. I'm thinking Changelings.



I'm just tickled by the parallel.

So the Bottersnikes kind of look like Jem'Hadar and Gumbles can be squashed into any shape. Other then that I don't see much in common with JH and Founders.

Hmmm? Jem'Hadar? Ugly? YES! Lazy? I don't think so. The cloned Vorta have purpose written into their DNA, so I suppose you might say they were shaped or fashioned after the Founders design, but only once. They kill them and start over if they're defective. Otherwise, I see the resemblance!

All I remember about those books was the oft-used command: "Gubbo, Snorg - sit on his head!"

I really can't imagine the Jem-Hadar rebelling against their masters by shoving them into tin cans.
