Well, I just spent 15 minutes writing a rant about the unbelievable silliness of Denny and how everyone on the show doesn't seem to care, but I must have timed out because when I went to post, I was somehow no longer logged in and my post was lost to oblivion.Suffice it to say:
-- Denny is somehow allowed to remain an unfunny, embarrassing buffoon hurting the rep of CP&S
-- Loved Alan unleashing his fury on Denny for the stupid ringtone gag, and his closing, in typical fashion, was fantastic.
You realise the show is a comedy too and David E Kelly loves over the top humor, I suggest CBS for a more realistic and less fufilling experience.

It sickens me to say this, but Mark is right. The show has been getting dumber and dumber as the show went on. The first three seasons were best, and the last two are really dumb comedy, but the first few seasons had that too. So what I'm saying is you have watched the show before? This episode is like episode 88 or 89 and you just realized what you are watching?
And Denny is clearly faking it tonight.
I wish they'd release the scripts of all Alan's closings. I would pay good money to have that.
I've watched the show since the beginning, but like you said it's "been getting dumber and dumber" and I just feel that much of the "humor" isn't that funny, especially when it comes to Denny.
