Borg Question: Episode 'Drone'?

Hi all, I was re-watching this episode for the 100th time today and it's still such an awesome episode.

Anyway, my question is related to how the Borg dealt with 'One' when he beamed aboard the Sphere. As soon as he beams aboard the Borg voice boldly declares "We are the Borg, you will be assimilated" and then One warns them "Stop your attack or I will destroy you" and the Borg once again, boldly proclaims "Your technology will be added to our own." Then, One links up with the Borg vessel and begins to position the Sphere closer to the fatal nebula. Realizing they were in trouble the Borg voice almost anxiously says "Terminate your interface."

Was I the only one that thought it was weird how quickly the Borg voice went from pure confidence to anxiety? Or was this just their response to realizing that "We be ******" and telling One to terminate his interface was the last resort since the security Borg drones that One encounters were unable to stop him?

By the way, what would you call that Borg voice? The captain of the Sphere?

It seemed like it was just spitting out pre-determined messages until One began to change the Sphere's course.

I never got why the Borg didn't go after Voyager full force right after that moment beyond the dumbing effect the show gave them.

Voyager produced a single drone that destroyed a Borg ship by himself no problem. They had no reason to think that either Voyager has the technology to do that again(which they did since a few stray nanoprobes on the emitter produces SuperBorg) or that they weren't a fundamental threat in of themselves for being able to do that.

"Drone" is a great episode. It reminds me a little bit of the episode "I, Borg" from TNG. "Drone" is probably my most watched episode from that season and definitely in my Top 10.

As for One being able to destroy the sphere...come on, he's a 29th century hybrid Borg! I don't think the Borg found Voyager much of a threat or worthy of a long chase. The reason One allowed himself to die was because he knew the Borg would only chase Voyager down to assimilate him since he was so special and advanced.

Just pointing out the obvious plot hole that Voyager produced a 29th century drone out of no where, and the Collective doesn't feel threatened by or want to acquire this. After all what was the worse that could happen for them? More time travel silliness that has their future selves give them uber weapons and blow up that bit of technology that was always important even if we never heard of it?

I always thought the drone was cool and all, but it never made sense to me why it was more advanced, since the nanoprobes were regual nanoprobes.
