Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt No 2

Miss Chicken

Little three legged cat with attitude
Admiral
It seems like people enjoyed the first book hunt so I am hoping that this one will also be fun. I might continue having this on a regular basis in the future (if I can think of enough questions).

So I want you to find the following on your bookshelves (if you have them)

1) A book by an author with a Q in their name

2) A book you have more than one copy of - the don't have to be exactly the same. They could be a regular copy and an abridged or annotated copy, or a paperback and a e-book version etc.

3) What is the heaviest book you own?

4) Name a book of poetry that you own (if you do own one)

5) A novel with the name of an animal in its title

6) Name a book you have with a beautiful cover (photos welcomed)

7) A novel with a number in its title

8) A non-fiction book about science

9) A book that you started but never finished (not your current read)

10) A novel set in Asia

11) A book about books (fiction or non-fiction)

12) Name of a cook book (if you have one)

Alright, let's see what I've got!

1) A book by an author with a Q in their name

It's Just What I've Always Wanted! by Chiquita Woodard (contains gift ideas).

2) A book you have more than one copy of - the don't have to be exactly the same. They could be a regular copy and an abridged or annotated copy, or a paperback and a e-book version etc.

I can't think of any. I'm pretty efficient in my book collecting (or any collecting). If I had two copies I would promptly choose one to keep.

3) What is the heaviest book you own?

A large book called The Founding of the United States Experience, which includes a lot of interactive elements like envelopes containing reproduction archival documents, large photographs, things to touch and move, etc.

4) Name a book of poetry that you own (if you do own one)

Nope, no poetry! Not a big fan.

5) A novel with the name of an animal in its title

Five Little Pigs by Agatha Christie

6) Name a book you have with a beautiful cover (photos welcomed)

My old copy of The Scarlet Letter that I mentioned in the previous thread. It is a scarlet red cloth with ornate gold designs on the edges. A picture doesn't really do it justice.

7) A novel with a number in its title

1984 by George Orwell

8) A non-fiction book about science

Stiff: The Curious Life of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach. I haven't read it yet so I'm not sure exactly how scientific it is.

9) A book that you started but never finished (not your current read)

Roughing It by Mark Twain (really do want to get around to finishing that, its only been about 10 years...)

10) A novel set in Asia

Death in Midsummer and other stories by Yukio Mishima

Cataloging and Classification: An Introduction by Lois Mai Chan. One of my many Library Science textbooks.
