Books etc for all the new STAR TREK FANS

I was thinking how JJ's NuTrek movie has brought so many new people into the "fold" and thus lots of interest in all the incarnations of Star Trek, meaning, TOS, TAS, TNG, Voy, DS9, Enterprise and all the movies.

I know that i just LOVE having my COMPANIONS to go through when watching an old show. It brings so much more to the episode for me, knowing some of the backstories etc from each episode.

I was thinking that maybe some of the new fans are unaware of whats out there for them to help them along etc.

I particularly love each incarnation's Companion books, my Star Trek Chronology book and my "Star Trek Encyclopedia".

Anyone have any other books or tools that they might recommend to new viewers?

Star Trek 101 looks like a quick read. And "The Making of Star Trek" and Bob Justman's book are classics.

The books by Shatner and Nimoy's last autobiography are both pretty good, and The Nitpicker's Guide for TOS and TNG could be fun, too.

the TOS nitpicker's guide is great. Also the Star Trek Compendium, which has some good tidbits about the story drafts of the episodes.

I still think the definitive episode guide is yet to be written. I wish we'd see something like Mad Norwegian Press's About Time series, about Doctor Who.
