Book Cover Request

I'm looking for a photoshop or paintshop pro artist willing to help me with a book cover for one of my in-development fics / e-books.

"Star Trek: Mandela"
"The Arke Effect"

http://stnewworlds.webs.com/STMandela_Arke.doc

By Jason K. Hauck

I'd like a group picture of the main characters / actors given below, with a Legacy-Class starship picture in the background.

  • Rena Sofer as a Starfleet Commander / X.O. (in a red TNG "First Contact"-era uniform.)
  • Kelsey Grammer. (He played Captain Morgan Bateson, from the TNG episode - "Cause & Effect")
  • They'll be standing in a group shot with Diana Muldaur (as "Chief Medical Officer Dr. Katherine Pulaski".)
  • Megan Fox in a Gold "F.C." Starfleet Uniform.
  • Oh, & please include Mitch Ryan as Kyle Riker, too, please.

===================================

Back Cover Blurb:

2380's - Captain Morgan Bateson is awarded the Legacy-Class starship, Mandela, after the events of "Star Trek: Nemesis" & Bateson's old crew is disseminated throughout the remainder of the decimated fleet. Bateson's formerly X.O. Gabriel Bush has been given Captaincy of the Saber-Class U.S.S. Bozeman-A (formerly the U.S.S. Roderick.) In the meantime, the Mandela's Chief Medical Officer Katherine Pulaski has revived her relationship with Kyle Riker after his engagement to Brenda Sorenson abruptly dissolved. In the meantime, Riker's become a father to Thomas Riker & grandfather to Natasha Miana Troi-Riker. In the meantime, Bateson has been saddled with a by-the-book Exec fully aware of Bateson's temporal dislocation and general discomfort with former adversary - The Klingon Empire - as a newly indoctrinated Starfleet ally. Virtually moments out of box-dock, they're already experiencing narcolepsy-like episodes that affect the safety & performance of his crew. Pulaski, Riker, Bateson and their crew must go up against familiar, but unseen foes.

A follow-up to TNG's "The Icarus Factor" and "Night Terrors" episodes, & DS9 "Defiant" episode.

We get one of these every few months. They're full of ideas and "requests" but void of manners.

I'll tell you what I tell just about every other request poster: do it yourself.

Seen it on other boards too. I'm not the world's greatest artist but when there is nothing in the way of "manners" or "gratitude" in a request - here's the door, make sure it doesn't hit your ass on the way out. :klingon:

At least you all replied in a polite and respectful manner, showing him the error of his ways. Oh, wait...

How does Thomas Riker get out of Cardassian Jail in this story? Provided he's even still alive in that jail...

[EDIT: Removed quoted post - not really necessary this early in the thread ;) - Ptrope]

Interesting timing, considering that this month's challenge is to create a book cover - if you wait until Jan. 1, or watch the developing threads, you may see something that interests you :bolian:.

Hmmm.....what a coincidence. I've been trying to think up a new cover idea for the Star Trek Concordance (long story, not sure if I can say anything).

Kaiser:

Its been done before. DS9 - "In The Pale Moonlight", Garak helped get a holo-forger out of a Klingon prison at the behest of Benjamin Sisko, in order to drag the Romulans into the Dominion War.

With the conjectural path to 2409 ("Star Trek: Online") & Garak's influence in the new Cardassian Government, its plausible that someone in The Resistance on Cardassia Prime (now part of the post-Dominion War Government,) has decided to listen to Garak, & those on DS9 (including Kyle Riker,) petitioning the government.

The Andak Horticultural Project being a serious bargaining chip in these diplomatic discussions. The Cardassians would also consider this "favor" a feather in their cap in later political / tactical maneuvers around Starfleet & The Federation / A.Q. Alliance.

Together, these accumulated political forces with differing agendas leverage the release of Thomas Riker from Lazon II. Provided he promises to stay out of Cardassian affairs and out of their territory. He's assigned by a grateful but embarrassed Starfleet Command to the X.O. position along a distant border patrol consisting of a rickety Kirov-Class (Constitution-Class variant), so there's no reason to believe the Cardassians will ever deal with him again.

The U.S.S. Kirov (Thomas' ship) is suddenly attacked & destroyed by Forces Unknown, resulting in stranding all survivors on a nearby world via escape pods/shuttlecraft. A month and a half later, he & his crew are located by the Enterprise-E.

Thomas Riker is then reassigned to Jim Kirk's newest ship. The Legacy-Class U.S.S. Exeter.

Thomas Riker's father (Kyle) is now dating Kathrine Pulaski & living part-time on the Exeter with her, after Kyle's engagement to Brenda Sorenson abruptly dissolves. Pulaski is now the C.M.O. of the Exeter. Awkward!

Lastly, to address the manners issue. I do truly appreciate any and all assistance the brilliant artists of TrekBBS are prepared to grant me. Truly, I get too excited and narrow-minded in my enthusiasm to communicate my brain-farts with the necessary "Please" & "Thank You" the artists distinctly deserve. I apologize to the Mods & the artists for my past outbursts and dereliction of required tact/decorum. Again, I hope we can begin a fresh future relationship. Again, I sincerely apologize to all Mods / Forum Members that I have offended.

Actually, I've noticed VERY good manners on this board on the whole, its only occasionally that my nose is tweaked by people almost demanding a project.

I'm more than willing to help anybody out with my limited talents, but its driven me away from other boards and to be honest I quite like it here. That's why I got a little antsy further up!

Merry Christmas to all BTW!

I've been known as SexOfNine, MrDeeds, DrPulaski & best as Hellsgate. I just want to get back to having fun writing & submitting WIP fics & advice to those honestly seeking assistance. Perhaps with True Blood / New Moon meets Trek characters (Lycans / Vampires) in 2380 & Beyond.

I think Hellsgate was banned at one point. Least he stopped posting after getting kicked out of a contest in the fanfic forum.

In "Star Trek: Exeter", I'm working on the idea of Morgan Bateson (temporarily) assigned to the Enterprise-E, just before Worf is appointed as its' permanent C.O.

As a result of several crew replacements/rotations between Voyager & the Enterprise-E, Worf is granted the Enterprise-E in Jean Luc's absence. Morgan is reappointed to the Legacy-Class U.S.S. Mandela as its new C.O. and asked to head-up the convoy gathering at Drema Station to travel to Cardassia to initiate the Andak Horticultural Project.

Set after Jean-Luc is leveraged out of the center seat of the Enterprise-E by Starfleet Command after the embarrassing faux-pas at Rashanar & his decision to ram the Reman Schimitar. The ramming of the Scimitar, resulting in losing Commander Data (or was it B4 that swapped places with him & subdued his personality as a result of a Soong-implanted subliminal directive?)

"Mandela" branches-off into my own universe, while amalgamating interesting aspects of the conjectural path to 2409 from "Star Trek: Online", The Shatnerverse and the "A Time To..." semi-canon Trek Lit.

In my branched-off alternate universe, Jean-Luc Picard is removed from the Enterprise-E for perceived Post Traumatic Stress Disorder affecting his ability to command. Especially after his experience as Locutus, losing Commander Data, & firing on an ally's ship, (Picard was convinced at the time) was a techno-organic "shapeshifter" of Founder origin in a confusing boneyard of Federation wrecks at Rashanar. At Rashanar, there's a singularity at the center of the boneyard (caused by multiple close-quarters warp core breaches,) which renders sensors virtually useless.

Worf assumes command after Geordi refuses the X.O. position once Will leaves with Deanna & Wes to the Titan.

Morgan Bateson is re-allocated to the Mandela, the Legacy-Class flagship of the convoy leaving Drema Station. While at Drema Station, Chief Medical Officer Katherine Pulaski is troubled by her ongoing uneasiness about her uncertain relationship with Kyle Riker, especially after he'd been engaged to Brenda Sorenson. In the meantime, she agrees to join the "Andak" convoy to Cardassia aboard the Mandela. She does this in order to help herself conclusively settle her doubts, while Kyle's away for a few days on the Titan, bonding with his newborn grand-daughter Natasha Miana Troi-Riker.
