There are people who appraise book collections. I know someone from Idaho (at least the last I knew he was living in Moscow, Idaho and is the husband of V.E. Mitchell - a Star Trek author) who appraises science fiction book and art collections. I don't know if he still does this or where he is, but if you can find someone closer, it's worth talking to them to get some advice.
