Bolos are a favourite character/vehicle of mine. They are gigantic land vehicles operated by a brain that is a supercomputer able to feel emotions, understand concepts like loyalty, ethics and honor, have stored the recollections of every preceeding individual Bolo and can feel pain or link with it's human commander's brain.
Now for this situation, a group of Bolos has entered the Trek Universe along with humans escaping the apopalytic Melconian War of the Boloverse. They have a planet to occupy smack in the middle of the Romulan Star Empire which wants the planet and the Bolo technology.
The model is the Mk-34 on the drawing board and is armed with two twin 230 cm Hellfire turrets on flexible barbettes that allow shooting in a 180 degree hemisphere.
Hellbores work by accelerating and heating in the breech/barrel a slug of dueteriumn to fusion reaction and have a muzzle velocity of 60% lightspeed and a impact energy measured in megatons and are fully adequate against Boloverse ships in high orbit.
Bolos are heavily armoured, have a dual layer hull, internal damage limitation field, robotic damage control/repair, can field small hovertank scouts, have a two ply kinetic battlescreen and feature a secondary armament of 35 cm Hellbores along the sides. A VLS system can launch missiles and remote sensing drones.
They weigh over 40,000 tons and manuever on ground with crawler tracks or treads at over 60 mph and employ antigrav to achieve free flight at 300 mph plus though with main armament/battlescreen inoperative due to power drain and can achieve orbit/descend to ground from orbit using countergrav under hostile defensive fire.
Powerplant employs a solar conversion field and multiple fusion reactors.
Lasers are used to hard kill kinetic weapons like missiles and howizters and mortars are also mounted.
You have four of these machines defending against Romulan assault force. They have no transporter tech and do not use antimatter powerplants.
