So, is Petrino going to survive his little lie about the hot 25 year old on his motorcycle who also happened to be his employee? Will he keep his job as head football coach at Arkansas? Will the swimming and diving coach at Arkansas kill him, since Ms. Jessica Dorrell is (I'm sure that's past tense now) his fiancéé ? Way to dip your pen in the company ink, Bobby. Also, this little escapade could potentially place the university in danger of a sexual harrassment suit; employers don't like that either--though Ms. Dorrell would be completely disingenuous to file one, IMO. However, football rules Arkansas and Petrino does have the winning record they crave. At the end of the day I say that he keeps his job in spite of the morals clause in his contract (and making is boss look like a schmuck) and that his piece on the side rues the day since she's the low "man" on the totem pole, so to speak. That's the way it usually works. He stays; she's out on her ear. Any opinions on whether he survives this? Petrino's burned a lot of bridges in his career. Plenty of people really dislike him.

As for Ms. Dorrell, why are women so unfathomably dumb when it comes to married men? Have you seen a picture of her fiancé, Josh Morgan? Let's just say he's far more gorgeous than the doughy faced Petrino. Is Petrino's wallet that big? Maybe she didn't want to get married and didn't have the guts to tell Morgan. Screwing Petrino and the whole world finding out about it should take care of that. Men don't stand by their women when they're publicly humiliated by them. She lost her fiancé and her job and good luck getting another job in sports promotion at another university. All for Bobby Petrino, who by all accounts is an asshole. I don't think you can sue for mistress alimony payments. I'm sure his wife will figure out how to take him to the cleaners and who could blame her?

The latter must have been the larger group.

Apparently Petrino didn't understand that, or if he did he's simply too arrogant to care. There are still people around here who think he was fired solely because he had an extramarital affair, which isn't the case of course. It's putting the mistress on the payroll and exposing the university to potential sexual harrassment lawsuits and civil suits from the 158 other applicants for Ms. Dorrell's job who never really had a chance. As of this morning, believe it or not, she's still employed by the university of Arkansas. I cannot believe that stems from anything other than the fear of a lawsuit. What I can't fathom is that she'd actually continue to work for the university. The situation would be untenable. Hi! I'm the cute young blond who was fucking the coach and got the job for services rendered. Let me guide you through the recruiting process, boys. Let me get you some coffee. My secretary won't seem to get me any. I wonder why. It's absurd.

Sexual harrassment laws were not created for situations like hers, but she could sure take advantage. She was obviously out for as much money as she could get. I'll never believe that she was so besotted by old Bobby that she couldn't stay away.

I really have to wonder who would want to hire Petrino right now, given the aforementioned history. Some struggling program will still try him out, and it will be an FBS team that's slipped in recent years. The will simply write in his contract that he has to keep his nose clean and away from the crap he's pulled.

But right now he needs to get his own house in order. And not the million dollar mansion he's been trying to sell for two years.

Yeah, I heard it, but it makes me despair for my gender. Yes, money grubbing gold digging whores do exist in spades, gentlemen. In all fairness, so do misogynistic assholes like Bobby Petrino, but there's no shortage of floozies, as my late grandmother used to call them.

This story has real legs here in the OKC radio market. Apparently Bobby and Ms. Dorrell were just carrying on like two little love birds. His university phone records have been pulled and cell phone records checked-hundreds of phone calls and texts between the two in the past several months are documented. I think that was done to make sure that this $20,000 "gift" that both parties confirmed didn't come out of any university funds (it didn't). He was enthralled by her.....personality and she's in love with his wallet, I guess. She has retained a lawyer; she's still employed by the university. Apparently at UA, sexual harrassment can be claimed in some circumstances even if the relationship was consensual and not engaged in under any sort of duress, which is all kinds of fucked up if both parties are over 21.

Mr. Morgan, they can't seem to figure out if he's still employed in some capacity or not. They are definitely no longer engaged. They were supposed to marry on June 9, but apparently she called it off right before she took the job Bobby so kindly offered her. She was content to break her engagment to the nice looking swim coach to be Bobby's mistress; perhaps she thought he'd leave his wife for her. Oh honey, you were only an extremely expensive ego boost. Ms. Dorrell may be as big a fool as Petrino was, but she'll get a pay out from the university. You watch. There's no way she can work there. She just can't. But she can threaten to sue.

I hope Bobby has a comfortable couch at home. I'll bet explaining to his teenaged daughters that men really aren't that bad is going to be a challenging conversation. Always behave like ladies, my girls. Once you find the right man, if you treat him right and he'll always treat you like a queen......oh, wait.....

That isn't necessarily the reasons.

Women are drawn to successful males. Put a word bank of 25 adjectives in front of a woman and ask the to pick five to describe their idea of a perfect mate and if the word "successful" or its equivalent is there it winds up chosen every time.

Also, most women will describe their husbands or boyfriends that way (whether they are or not).

It is millions of years of evolution combined with thousands of years of instincts that trumps a few hundred years of civlization. A human female seeks out a successful human male as their optimal mate.

How do you define "successful"? One could argue that Petrino's not successful now. His job is gone, his prospects are seriously diminshed and he's disgraced in the eyes of his children and probably hated by his wife. Is it tons and tons of money and a job with prestige and fame that makes a man? For a great many women, apparently it is. I also include personal integrity in my equation of a successful man. Again, I'm not every female. Many don't seem to care about the integrity part of the equation.

Women are under the illusion that having a rich, successful man "pick" them makes them special. It doesn't. That "successful" guy can leave you in a heartbeat and what do you have if you haven't worked on yourself as a person? Not a thing. The idea of a man who'd cheat on his wife for you wasn't appealing to me even before my own marriage blew apart because of my husband's 20 year old girlfriend, then wife, and now ex-wife Maybe it's an adrenaline rish for some girls. They're in for a rude awakening when they're no longer 25 and they can't command male attention at the drop of a hat. Ms. Dorrell got $20,000, a car, and many an expensive gift from Petrino. She got a job. She's lawyered up now and is on paid leave because the university is afraid to fire her. I hope the settlement lasts her a couple of decades. 20 years from now, she isn't going to be able to lure a sugar daddy like she can now.

As for Petrino, he's still the dumbest cracker with a midlife crisis I can think of. The press and the university's lawyers subpoenaed Bobby's cell phone records not so much because they were tracing the $20,000, but more because they could. Petrino made every single one of those hundreds of calls, texts, and sent the lewd pictures on a university issued cell phone. He didn't use his own private phone. That's public property. Its records can be subpoenaed under the Freedom of Information Act. No wonder he's so anxious to reconcile with his wife. She has all the evidence she needs to take him for everything he has in divorce court. If she wanted to, she could make Kobe's divorce seem amicable.

Perhaps so. I didn't know in my own marriage, but looking back there were a great many signals and signs that I ignored because facing the truth was too painful. Believe me, it's possible to be in the dark if you don't want to know. Being middle aged and suddenly single is no picnic. Now Becky Petrino has no choice but to know and to try and deal with it in addition to the needs of her four children. His sons look like they're grown, but the daughters still look like teenagers in the photo I saw of them. And it isn't just Ms. Dorrell, it was miss swimsuit whatsnername who worked for the Arkansas Republican party that Bobby was texting and sexting for 2 months--all on his university issued cell phone. Apparently Bobby has appetites for sweet young things.

In any case, he'd better learn how to grovel if he doesn't want to fork over a fortune in a divorce settlement. It's all documented in the cell records. 4,300 texts and 300 phone calls to Ms. Dorrell in that 7 month period; that's not including the texts to the other girl. Bobby just thought he knew what a bitchy wife who didn't understand him was. Now he's really going to find out. If there's anything women love, it's being publicly humiliated.

That might be true if your spouse cheated once or had a one night stand, but Petrino made a prolonged habit out of it. How humilated is Becky going to be once the nude photos leak out on the internet? Plus, she has to navigate the landmines of her children's shattered emotions as well. Bobby's cheated with two women that we know of--Jessica and the Republican committee bikini chick. I'm sure there's been more. You can't trust and love again when someone is constantly betraying your trust....with women half your age, to boot. It's the worst emotional pain imaginable. The fact that everyone in the community would know about it would only make it worse. With me, it was his knocking her up that broke the camel's back. Even without that, I couldn't have gotten over the anger. I didn't want someone I had to keep on a ball and chain or check up on whenever he was out of my sight. That's no kind of marriage.
