Blue Or Gold?

In TMP we see the Enterprise with both a gold deflector dish and later a blue one.
I like the gold as it more closely resembles the radar -looking one from the TV show. How about you?

Myself, I prefer the Blue deflector dish. It's more vibrant, I guess. The refit Enterprise.... it's gold, baby....gold!

You are right that the blue is more vibrant. It probably just works better on screen than the gold/copper one. I like the gold because of how it seems to be a modernization of the TV show one.

I prefer both, in the system they used. With the dish gold under low power, then ramped up to blue when under full power.

I just mean blue is much better, not my model. I do not have a pic. It's in a tote in my garage so I'm not likely to be taking one soon.

I like the color change and I love the idea that it warms up and cools down, but I prefer the blue as it demonstrates she is fully under way. But it seems blue has become the signature Federation color.

Huh. I must be one of the few who really likes the gold. Don't get me wrong, I love the blue, but that's the only color deflectors have been for years, and seeing a more subdued gold...well, it seems special. Plus, as others have noted, the color change helps make the ship feel more "functional." And, darn it, gold is pretty.
