Bleach - Anime that grew on me

^I've been watching the weekly releases of Bleach since around episode 23 or 24. A friend in college recommended it and I was hooked around episode 5, finishing off all then currently released episodes. Then began the slow weekly march to what is currently episode 205.

I skipped the 'Bount' as Well as the 'Princess & 3rd captain' arcs but have enjoyed the main storyline very much. Nothing against the arcs, as I haven't watched them all t he way through, but I just didn't care for their first few episodes of each. (I'm also not fond of them streching/extending episodes of the main storyline with filler, but I guess some filler is better than total filler.)

I'm really looking forward to episode 206 this coming week. It kicks off the Vizard Backstory Arc, and I've been waiting for explanation of them for awhile now.

I've read the Manga infrequently, nothing against it either, just haven't had the time to collect it all together and sit down and follow it.

Glad to see others like Bleach here too.

I haven`t been able to find a place that offers teasers/spoilers for coming episodes yet. "The Vizard Backstory Arc", that sounds really interesting indeed! Now I am even more looking forward to the next episode.

I think "Bount" is very good especially for a filler. "Princess & 3rd captain" is a bit more mixed. At first my husband wasn`t very fond of it and asked me "Why should I care about this brat?" I couldn`t blame him but in time that character grew on me. I really can`t comlain about the rest. Now that I know that this is a filler chapter I can see why the story ended the way it did.

Well if it helps, the "Bount" arc (Which was actually 2 arcs back-to-back) was laid out and plotted by Tite Kubo, the creator and mangaka of Bleach. Not sure if he wrote it, but he did contribute.

As far as Teasers/Spoilers go, I just watched the "Shinigami Golden Cup" at the end of episode 205 and saw it mentioned.

If you like, check out GotWoot Forums for info on current Bleach releases in both Anime & Manga.

Thank you! I will check out the gotwoot net and forums in the evening. My husband showed me that the Bleach entry in Wikipedia is providing some teasers for coming episodes. It looks promising!

Usually I don`t like Wikipedia very much. Also the Bleach entry is incredibly cluttered and not user friendly at all. My husband had to literally point out to me where to go because I was hopelessly lost. But maybe it is just me: I am not good with computers. They don`t seem to like me either.

I have decided to get the German issues in between the English editions and the Japanese ones after all. I will fill that gap within the next two or three months because there is no way I can afford so many more books right now. It should be interesting to compare the German translations, too.

By the way, the German in Bleach makes me cringe sometimes but it is at least not on the same level as the Marvel English in recent Star Trek books!

I checked that website out and must admit this is not a place where I feel welcome and comfortable. But thank you!

^Yeah.

I thought that might be the case. They're a bunch of Pretentious Otaku (Anime Fanboys) with nothing better to do than one-up each other by showing-off or going on these crazy power trips.

Like I said, I just go for the current information. (And I don't post.)

If anyone knows of some other useful sites (and where the people are more friendly) I'd certainly be interested.

I recomend the forums at AnimeNewsNetwork for a good anime related forum (as well as the latest news items, reviews, and editorials). It's for all anime but there is a massive ongoing Bleach thread. It's also well mod-controled and has lots of active members. The site also has a massive anime encyclopedia and lets you catalog all that you've seen in a list if you want.
