You're in for a real treat. The Blade Runner blu-ray is fantastic. Unbelievable picture and sound quality.
It was indeed...
Okay, there were four of us gathered to watch Blade Runner. It came with four versions, we went with Ridley's 2007 director's final cut.

The movie is a stunning print, and on Bill's Sony plasma, 240hz (whatever that means) a real experience!
I haven't seen Blade Runner in five years or so. I couldn't believe how young Harrison Ford looks in this movie, and it was strange seeing Edward Jame Omos looking so different than he did on nuBSG.
It is strange how futurist movies, that were made years ago like this one, predict what will be in the future. This movie takes place in 2019, and there isn't a hint of any cellphone usage, yet, they do have payphones with video tech. Flying cars (and like the Jetsons, Blade Runner gets this wrong too)
Blade Runner has always had a quasi Film noir feel to it, for me at least, when ever I see it. Harrison Ford's character Deckard could easily transport back to the 1940s and fit in quite well.
The movie scored good, but not as good as some might think, thanks to the 'generational' thing we are discussing over in the media forum. For our gathered throng, it shewed higher for the two older farts (me and bill).
The movie scored an over all 7.95 on a 1-10 scale. Between me and Bill it averaged a 9.2, but for Jed and Tanner, it only got a 6.6.
Bill an I both thought that the movie still holds up. The story, the FX, the synthesizer driven music, acting and direction were all very strong, where as Tanner/Jet thought the music was goofy, and the acting was suspect, and the pacing was too slow (a general argument them youngin's make!)
If this means anything, Blade Runner did not score higher than either THE DARK KNIGHT or WRATH OF KHAN, but did score higher than A CLOCKWORK ORANGE. Next week its on to Dark City...
Because of debate over captain kirk's character traits, we didn't get to the movie until 10pm..and Robby jr was out cold.
