Not sure this qualifies as "fan art", but I made my avatar on bitstrips. Used a purse for my tricorder and there's no insignia, but still pretty good, right?
I think it's pretty good. Reminds me of back with the Nintendo Wii came out and my buddies going to great lengths to make their Mii avatars look as much like themselves as possible.
