Can Birth of the Federation operate on windows 7? Is there anywhere that still sells it?

My brother was running it fine on Vista just recently, so I'd imagine it's ok for 7.

Not sure if he did anything to get it to run, but if he can do it, anyone can.

You'll find it somewhere. Ebay's the best place to start first. I don't know if there's a digital download somewhere.

There's a small but dedicated fan community out there that has plenty of cool mods which fix many of the more glaring design flaws, too. I can't really speak at length because I haven't made the time to check them out personally just yet but the general consensus seems to indicate that the game is much improved.

Download the Multi Installer, followed by Ultimate Dominion Mod (latest).
It will allow you to play the modded BOTF with Dominion instead of the Ferengi (which became a minor race), plus you have loads of mods such as higher poly/nicer looking meshes of ships/stations, and some minor mods to the GUI.
