Birdemic

Another crappy, shitty, low-budget movie. One that looks so bad it gets Tommy Wiseau to riff on it.

The movie will be available on Amazon next Tuesday, as will the Rifftrax on it.

Looks to be... EPIC.

Having a rifftrax available with the DVD release is a little too synergistic, they're not just commenting on a film being bad, they're complicit.

Rifftrax is made/done by an actual studio/production company so it's entirely possible they got an advanced copy of the DVD. In most cases studios do this to allow for reviews and such to be written and released on the same day of the video's release in RT's case they take make the Rifftrax for it rather than do a review.

This also isn't the first time they've released a RT on the same day as a video's release.

Oh yeah I remember the director of this movie being Adam Carollas podcast pluggin the movie, hilarity ensued.

Okay I'm watching this movie right now (and I went ahead and got the Blu-Ray) you guys have to see this movie. It redfines terrible.

I've seen better filmed and directed YouTube videos.

At the very least, this looks as if it was made incompetently to be funny. It's not The Room, which was clearly made incompetently on accident, or After Last Season, which was probably made incompetently* as part of a Producers-esque investment fraud scheme.

*And it looks that Birdemic won't take its crown as the worst film of all time, either. After Last Season is a dadaist anti-film, but not in a good way like Freddy Got Fingered. It is the blackhole.

Is "After Last Season" the one done in someone's basement with cardboard sets and MRI machines?

Ugh, yeah that one's terrible -but I've only seen the "trailers."

Birdemic is just terrible on whole other levels, at least "The Room" showed a degree or two of competence, passion and love to it and it actually had some "decent" cinematography to it (mostly the beauty shots of San Francisco locations) but "Birdemic" is just out-right terrible on nearly every level.

There are printers in the basement! ;)

To anyone who wonders what the hell we're talking about: Abandon all hope, ye who enter here...
Yeah, right, more like genre: nihilism.

Spoony's iRiff of it is simply great, though.

Yep. Actually, The Room is not nearly as badly acted. The Room, one might argue, is not so much badly acted, for the most part, as bizarrely acted. It's like a soap opera from an alternate Earth where humans have slightly different body language and strange, unheard-of accents.
