three outfits — Time Studios / XYZ Films, Permut Presentations and Rush Hour director Brett Ratner — are racing to get their biopics into theaters. Time / XYZ is being helped by DeLorean’s family and friends, and Permut has secured the rights to DeLorean’s life story from the late automakers attorney, according to Variety. I remember this being discussed over 20 years ago, at which stage James Coburn was supposed to play the lead. However, DeLorean apparently objected because he felt Our Man Flint was too old!

From my perspective, it might be interesting to see if they set any of it in Belfast. The local solicitor who acted for DeLorean later turned to the booze, drank his practice into the ground, then became a magistrate. And he was a hateful bastard. As dead now as DeLorean and Coburn (indeed, he also looked a bit like them too ...)
