Bill Paxton( star of Aliens and Terminator) dead at 61

What the hell? This completely blindsided me this morning

Just saw him on James Corden a few weeks ago promoting his new TV series "Training Day"

 

Sad and surprising to hear. He did a lot of good stuff, but I'll always remember him as the gleeful, redneck vampire in NEAR DARK . . ...

 

Heartbroken to hear this. One of my all time favorite actors. I will miss him on the silver screen.

 

I guess his game really is over now.
It was hard for me to believe this one when my mom told me.

I was very surprised to learn about this today. He was still relatively young. My heart goes to his family. Rest in peace, Mr. Paxton.

 

Probably the definition of a solid working class actor who gave every performance his all.
Looking over his career I can't believe he didn't have an Emmy or two on his shelf and was only nominated for an Oscar once.
My condolences to his family and friends.

 

I am in total shock. I had no idea that he was having health problems at the time.

R.I.P. Mr. Paxton. I'm really going to miss you.

 

The AV Club did a great career retrospective interview with him back in '12.

 

Another one way too soon. RIP Bill......we will miss you.

Everyone is saying he won an emmy but I just see he was nominated.

 

Sigh...2017 continues the horrendous trend from 2016. RIP, Mr. Paxton. Thoughts and prayers to your family.

I remember him as a hayseed cop in "One False Move". Great performance.

 

I remember him in 'Weird Science' as the jerk older, brother. His stint on season 1 of 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.', 'Apollo 13' of course and yes, the much-maligned big-screen adaption on 'Thunderbirds'. R.I.P. Mr Paxton .

 

Bummer. Guess we all know what his epitaph should be.

my favorite Paxon character was the one from Aliens.
What do you mean "they cut the power"? How could they cut the power, man?! They're animals

 

He may have been in some bad movies, but he was never bad in one.

I'd be hard-pressed to choose my fave Paxton flick, but I'll be watching Frailty tonight. Actor-Director combo, feels right.

 

Loved his work, even before I knew his name. Thank you sir. RIP.
