Big reveal tomorrow?

Whofan

Fleet Captain
Apparentally
"New look" Cybermen will be revealed at midnight London time. Word has it that these are basically modified 'cybus' suits, but lack the C logo. There will also be a new Cybercontroller design from what I've been reading.

You know, just once I wish they'd reveal these things to us in an actual episode rather than weeks before hand!

Blood Of The Cybermen? How the hell do you watch/play them, especially on the other side of the world? And I'm no game player - just a couple of hands of Freecell, and damn little of that in case it overexcites me.

By your user name I assume you're Down Under, so I don't know what distribution they have there, but the games were released in North America via Direct2Drive. Well, the PC versions anyway. For reasons no one has been able to explain BBC Worldwide decided not to release the Mac version internationally, so I've never been able to play the games either.

The idea of cross-platform storytelling is the wave of the future though. It's probably not long before some big show requires viewers to use an iPhone app to get the full experience. As for the DW games, they're meant for kids, so even if Freecell is your only experience, if you can access the game, it shouldn't be too difficult from what I hear. Failing that, google the title and there's a few plot synopses around, such as the one at http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Blood_of_the_Cybermen .

I didn't click the spoiler, but I know who (or what) is one of the baddies in the game (from the above link), and if it's them we're talking about, that's cool -- you won't need to have played the game to know who they are, but you will need to have watched a few classic Troughton stories.

Wow. Cybermen without the Cybus Industries logo, you say?

That doesn't sound like much of a big deal to me.

If they came out and said,
Paul McGann was going to show up
...now that would be earth-shattering!

He's not. I just like using spoiler tags for dramatic effect.

From set photos the cybermat still has the black tear/cybus cybermen design

Yeah, the Tear appears first in "Wheel in Space" and then in Invasion and Revenge of the Cybermen. They were removed for "Earthshock" though and the remaining 80s serials. Although some concept art indicates they were going to redesign them with tears if they ever appeared in the 90s.

The "Tear" from what I've heard is suppossed to represent their lost humanity (Not sure what the mouth tear from WIS represents, drool?). I like how it was brought back in the new series and was used for Cyber-Hartman ;)

First time I've seen it on the cybermat though.
