Big Finish 99 for 99 Sale

For the next 5 weeks Big finish are selling 99 of their titles (on download) for 99p each, so if you've ever wanted to give them a go it's safe to say there'll never be a better time. There're all from their early years and there's a lot of great stuff in there.

If I was to pick 5 to reccomend I'd go for (in no particular order):

The One Doctor
Spare Parts
Jubilee
Doctor Who and The Pirates
Omega

and a few more

Flip-Flop
Creatures of Beauty
Bang-Bang-A-Boom!

They also have some of the spin-off series there as well. "I, Davros" is particularly good.

I own all of the first fifty, Destiny of the Doctors, and I, Davros, but I don't have Iris Wildthyme, Dalek Empire, Cyberman, and U.N.I.T. (except The Coup for obvious reasons). I might pick up The Davros Mission for completion's sake even if it doesn't have The Doctor. Otherwise, I'm not really interest except maybe Cyberman.

As for recommendations, I'd go with (also no particular order):

Spare Parts
Omega
The Marian Conspiracy (first Evelyn)
The Holy Terror
...ish
Flip-Flop
Master
Storm Warning (first Charley, first McGann audio)
Embrace the Darkness
Colditz
I, Davros

All of those stories are some of the best work Big Finish has ever done and all stand up to the test of time.

I'd recommend other McGann stories, but his best ones (The Chimes of Midnight, Seasons of Fear, and Neverland) all hinge on the ongoing arc started in Storm Warning. I'm one of the rare fans of Zagreus, but it shouldn't be listened to until at least those four stories are heard first.

Definitely all stories with Evelyn Smythe as companion
All stories with Charley Pollard as companion
The Fifth Doctor-Nyssa stories

A very, very broad suggestion.

So how does this work... are these on CDs, or do you just download them?

I used to buy Big Finish on CD, but it was expensive ordering to Canada, from US resellers like WhoNA or BF themselves, due to postage costs, conversion rates, etc. I went for downloads direct from BF as soon as I could. They're good quality, you have the choice of m4b or mp3 (or both), you can redownload if you don't back them up properly, and there's an ios app, too.

I really wish I switched to downloads sooner than I did. Not only do I have a ton of CDs now (which I enjoy displaying but they take up a lot of space), but I could've saved a lot of money.
