I thought with Pixar taking over the reigns of Disney animation, the craptastic kiddie movies would come to a halt...until I saw the trailer for this giant festering turd which makes every other craptastic kiddie movie look like freaking Casablanca.

Yep. My friend & I saw that trailer when we saw Prince Caspian last night.
My response: "Even I'm confused by that one!"
His response: "What, has Hollywood run out of penguin movies?"

The really creepy thing is that this idea is just stupid enough to be a good movie. It doesn't make me cry nearly as much as that live-action Underdog movie last year.

Studio exec #1: "Happy Feet made a lot of money, so why don't we capitalize on people's love of singing and dancing animals and release our own movie with a singing...singing what?"

Studio exec #2: "Well Taco Bell has a chihuahua that people seem to love, so let's use that!"

Studio exec #3: "Great idea! But people will think it's a ripoff if we don't add our own ideas, so we need some originality here. Hmmm...let's have the singing and dancing chihuahuas have Aztec ancestry--people dig that old archeological stuff."

Studio boss: "Sounds great! Go ahead! Oh, and while you're add it, throw in some Beverly Hillbillies--that old show is a classic!"

A week later:

Studio exec #2: "So what did you think of our first teaser for our singing chihuahua flick?"

Studio exec #3: "You used Mayan ruins instead of Aztec ones."

Studio exec #2: "Eh, close enough. It's all the same shit anyway, and people will eat it up!"
