OK, I'm a sucker for musicals, and love fact that Trek series encompassed actors who had musical theatre chops. Having now seen every series, want to poll on who you think gives best in-universe musical performance. I am so divided as admire them all for different reasons. Love Picard's mambo in INS (but it's just a moment). Worf and other Klingons 'opera' (but let's be honest...Klingon opera?). Beverly's tap-dance with Data? Nice moment, but could have been more.

The one trick I think all the trek series missed is that they could have done an episode where the alien-of-the-week could communicate in nothing but Broadway/Hollywood musical language, or music. They did binary/metaphor/Shakespeare, etc, but not the most universal language....

Unfortunately, your options do not include Amarie and her powerful rendition of Melota in Unification.

So I went with the EMH.

Hands down, the EMH, who worked in a variety of genres. Even though opera was his first love, he could handle standards admirably well, and swang the photons out of "That Ol' Black Magic."

When did Kirk sing? Apart from Plato's Stepchildren, in which Kirk and Spock were forced to dance and speak poetry (in an albeit, hilarious scene, which was ruined by Kirk acting like a horse) I can't seem to recall anything else. I know we've seen Spock sing Maiden Wine and also play the Vulcan Lyre on several occasions.

And yes, I agree, Uhura's performances are really memorable and should be included in the poll.

I thought that EMH and Seven of Nine did the best musical performance on Trek. I especially liked "You Are My Sunshine" in "Someone to Watch Over Me."

Who said anything about Kirk singing? Or did you just misread "Kira"?

Anyway, I voted for EMH and Kira (i.e. Nana Visitor, since the real Kira didn't sing, it was Lola Crystal, the hologram), but I would have also voted for Uhura and Sisko if they had been included.
