    earth...but when?...spock?
not neccesarily the trek movies that were released around winter (although all of these were), but the ones that have Christmas scenes, or have abit of a Christmas feel etc. that might put them on your list of films to watch at chisrtmas (along with likes of Die Hard, Gremlins, Batman Returns etc)

The obvious being Generations with Picards 'nexmas' fantasy (possibly inspired by PStewarts love of A Christmas Carol? or maybe Generations is set at Christmas and is why Picard is feeling all festive?). also parts of the score sound abit Christmasy (probably due to being used in Picards fantasy),

Next chose VI as you have the Alaskan snow prison planet*.. but also theres a theory I read the film might be set a Christmas as in the kitchen (where Valeris vaporises the cooking pot) they are preparing turkeys ('is Star Trek VI a Christmas movie?'). Also might consider it a Christmasy movie for that period it came out: the 25th anniversary, VI, Unification = lots of Trek presents that Xmas :)

Then IV as you can't get away from that Christmas bells score! (did Leonard Rosenman write it at christmas I wonder?) and overall feel good 'christmas vibe' of the movie (although not a snow flake in sight)

(* obviously ST09 also has a snow planet but would consider it more a summer Trek movie like II, III, V, ID, BEY)

When I think Trek movies at Christmas, I usually think release dates and what my memories / nostalgia connect with.

I think TUC and TVH are the ones I most associate with Christmas memories.

That said, GEN actually has a scene that features Christmas in the Nexus, and it was released close enough to the season. So that would be my first choice.

I lean toward Generations as well as it does have a Christmas scene.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

Even though I went to see TUC for a second time in the theater on Christmas Day... which gave me an idea in the middle of typing this post. For Christmas 2021, I'll watch TUC to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of this.

And a 50-inch TV in my living room would've blown my mind in '91, so it works in a way. I'd still be watching on a "big screen" going by those standards.

    Star Trek IV this year.
    Star Trek VI next year.

Watch them all is the right answer, but I voted for TVH as it's full of perfect feel-good moments for the time of year. I crease myself every single time at Deforest's delivery during the, "Not working on all thrusters! " scene.

I used to love watching Star Trek films on TV at Christmas when I was growing up, and thus I started watching them this week for the first time in a while. Funnily enough, I'm on TVH tonight.

IV. Half the music in it sounds like Christmas music.

I started my annual re-watch of all the movies yesterday, so I'm set for IV on Christmas day!

I agree completely and for me, that could only be ST:TMP. I have a lot of fond memories of the anticipation for that first movie and eventually being able to see it on December 23. Good times!

Some times I'm curious about the feeling of having coal in my stocking, hence why I have a viewable copy of Star Trek Nemesis just for that purpose.

I dunno - kind of reminds me more of carnival music, and clowns. :p
