Best transporter effect

I prefer the TNG version, but I think it should be mildly updated to be 3D. It appears quite flat when watching the series.

I think that if the transporter were a real device, the process would always look the same, regardless if it were NX-01's single pad transporter, the one on 1701-E, a Klingon ship, etc., similar to how a Soviet A-bomb detonation looked exactly like an American one, which looked exactly like a Chinese one, and so on.

I always assumed a "real" transporter would have no outward effect at all. The person would simply appear out of nowhere. The only reason transporter effects exist is because it looks cool to the viewers. I don't see what could actually be generating that effect - where's the light and sound coming from?

In universe, it does have a tangible sound and visual effect.

I would like to see a transporter effect where we see the body form inside out. Like the effect in Hollow Man, only quicker, glowy and sparkly. With all the medical volume data out there, it shouldn't be hard to achieve.

That reminds me of a comic I read once. About a race of aliens that could teleport at will (they looked kind of like horses but had a singular limb instead of 4 legs), and every time they appeared somewhere, it would cause a huge explosion from the rush of air being displaced.

I think Stargate transporters make the most sense. They only work between two connected platforms, and they switch whatever is within the rings. So you don't have a displacement problem.
