BEST (or most interesting) Christmas Gifts!

To go with the worst gifts ever, the best gifts ever (aka this year)! :)

Mine this year would have to be a sign that says "Once you stop believing in Santa you start getting underwear" in a box full of underwear and sox! :)

Next would have to be the Snapple Candles!!! Those are awesome! Plus they do smell really nice too!

Getting my car repaired (my parents paid part of the cost) and thus being able to visit them and see my beautiful dog again was the greatest thing anyone could give me. As a result, having the whole family together and not have it descend into one big argument was nothing short of a Christmas miracle for the whole family.

I intend to repay that gift by visiting my next-door neighbour who is terminally unwell with an intracranial tumour, and chatting to them for a while.

Yes, it's a trite, wuss, non-materialistic, Cilla Black type answer, but Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without presence from your loved ones. :bolian:

My laptop, which I got a month early. :p

On Christmas Day, though, my best present was probably the cross stitch charts I'd wanted. I'm easy to please.

:guffaw: - that's excellent!! Do you know where it was bought?

That goes in the quote box!

As for my "best" gift of the day, it's either the device for digitizing audio cassettes & LP's. Or it's the Celestron Sky Scout... which I haven't been able to sue because of the cloud cover the past two days.

My in-laws put new tires on my car last week. My folks got me the six Blu-Ray set of 007 movies currently available in Blu-Ray.

My in-laws, who we'll celebrate the Holy Holiday of Gift Giving with over New Years, are also rumored to have gotten me the Ultimate Twilight Zone boxed set.

My wife tracked down a copy of the Kingsley Amis James Bond novel Colonel Sun.

My Christmas was ultimate win.

I got a 5kg (11lbs) jar of Nutella. ;)
Oh god. Can I come over?

I got some lovely gifts this year. My mom gave me beautiful pearl earrings, and my dad gave me the 4th series of Doctor Who, along with a hysterical David Tennant calendar. Just that fact that he found such a thing made me laugh so hard I had tears in my eyes.

The coolest, though, is the beautiful sculpture my little sister made for my older sister and her husband's new house. Here she is posed next to a glass of orange juice :) :

WW JW gave me a Nikon D60 DSLR camera for Christmas. I had asked for it but never expected to get it. I've been taking pictures for the last 2 days, when I get something I like I'll post it.

My parents took over my Truck Payment (I bought a 2009 Dodge Ram a few months ago after my lease expired) because of the hits I took in the Stock Market and my position being eliminated.

A 19 inch color monitor for my computer..it was badly needed! :) I CAN SEE FINALLY! My other one was so small, I had to squint in order to see. Now if I can only get my USB ports working on the computer I'll be in good shape!

Among other things, we got a Wii Fit from my in-laws, which is a pretty sweet gift and something I'm already enjoying.

The first ones: frankensence, myrrh and gold.

Baby Jesus had to of been like: WTF? Where the blu-ray, man?!

I got a lot of bigger gifts, but ironically the one that got the most attention was the cheapest. In a random gift exchange at our family party I got a big box of Hometown Favorites candies from the 1950s. All the aunts and uncles who actually grew up then got a big kick out of it and started picking away at the goods until most of it was gone. Which is okay because I was pretty burned out on candy at that point anyway, and it was a lot of fun reminiscing for everyone, just as I did with my cousin who got the 1980s candy box.
