Best Dr. Crusher novels?

Star Treks

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
So I'm currently engaged in the project of trying to read all the various TNG novels, and I'm in the mood for a really good Dr. Crusher story. I don't really care whether the book is new or old. But since I can buy most of them online... any reccommendations on the best Dr. Crusher novel(s)? I always appreciated her character, think she's a bit underrated and was not always utilized as much as she could have been in the shows/movies.

Thanks

If you can wait until January, there'll be a Crusher-centric eBook, the fourth installment in the Slings and Arrows miniseries, That Sleep of Death by Terri Osborne.

Several books in the A Time to... series had good Crusher stuff, especially A Time to Love and A Time to Hate by Robert Greenberger, A Time to Heal by David Mack, and A Time for War, a Time for Peace by self.

In short story form, we've got "Acts of Compassion" by Dayton Ward & Kevin Dilmore in the about-to-be-released The Sky's the Limit and "Mirror Eyes" by Heather Jarman & Jeffrey lang in the 2004 anthology Tales of the Dominion War.

KRAD, is there anything Trek-related that you don't have an wikipedic memory of? Try this...How many Conn officers did we have through the full run of TNG, including movies?

That one I can't do off the top of my head, unfortunately.

How-some-ever....

Torres ("Encounter at Farpoint"), O'Brien ("Encounter at Farpoint"), La Forge (first season), Worf (first season), Crusher (second, third, and fourth seasons), Haskell ("Where Silence Has Lease"), Clancy ("The Emissary"), Wallace ("The Hunted"), McKnight ("Clues," "In Theory," "Face of the Enmy"), Allenby ("Final Mission," "The Loss"), Ro (fifth and sixth seasons), Rager (fifth and sixth seasons), Gates (sixth season), Graham ("Identity Crisis"), Monroe ("Disaster"), Dern ("Genesis"), Lavelle ("Lower Decks"), Jae (Generations), Hawk (First Contact), Perim (Insurrection), Branson (Nemesis).

Of the above, Haskell, Monroe, Dern, Hawk, and Branson all were killed in the episode/movie in which they appeared.

 That is ridiculous. I bow before the Star Trek god.

19.

And that is a ridiculously good guess, since KRAD listed 21.

Oh, you missed one, Keith: Data (during the first season or at least in "Encounter to Farpoint").

I brought up Data because I was watching the old promos for "Encounter at Farpoint" the other day because of the 20th anniversary and one of the clips shows Data getting up from the Conn seat on the regular bridge. I actually haven't seen any of the first season in ages.

Therin's right -- the ops and conn positions were reversed in "Farpoint."

Although there were occasions where characters other than nominal flight controllers took the conn. Picard did so in "Booby Trap," Troi did in Generations and Nemesis, there were a couple of occasions where Data ran the ship singlehandedly, etc.

Oh, right. I see what Ian meant. That makes sense (well, it doesn't within the series, but whatever). I stand corrected.

It makes sense if you assume the LCARS panels are infinitely reconfigurable (and there's no reason they wouldn't be). Picard probably just decided he liked Data better over there.

Memory Alpha has a list of helmsman/conn officers of the Enterprises it's easy to get such a list. i said 19 because i compiled an E-D personnel list for my fan-fic and i was pretty sure it was just under 20. i was actually going on about 16/17 for the E-D and a couple on the E-E. i forgot Branson in NEM for one, i was thinking of Perim being in it.

^ I created the list from memory at first, and then supplemented it with Memory Alpha. Just, y'know, for the record. :)

Cheat! Still though, you do seem to know A LOT about this little universe. Perhaps TPTB should have had you as a continuity consultant on ENT
