I was going to vote for Garret. Really. I thought she was wonderful in her one episode. So I guess I'll have to go for Pike, my second choice, because as for everybody else, I either don't know enough to judge, or I actually dislike him/her.

I was kidding, the last "best captain" poll from last month included Harriman with the other five captains for some unknown reason, so I think he should be in all the polls.

Voted for Terrell. He could not recognize a planet from the other, but in the end he shot himself for the mistake. Gotta cut the guy some slack.

Wow, three captain polls running at once! And now I've posted in all of them. I think Jellico was the most memorable non-major captain. He was simultaneously hilarious and infuriating the way he pissed off and alienated the entire crew. His behaviour was detestable and at the same time perfectly understandable and natural. It was a brilliantly nuanced character in both writing and the performance. The character managed to seem villaineous and admirably clever at the same time. My favourite moments are him telling Troi to change her uniform, requesting the fish be taken out of the ready room, and the part where he and Riker say what they think of each other. The fish and uniform thing at first just seem like him being an asshole, but again demonstrating the wonderful dichotomy of the character, they're also totally reasonable requests.
