Big Finish announced today that Bernard Cribbins and Jacqueline King are reuniting with David Tennant and Catherine Tate in the third Tenth Doctor box set! I loved the first box set with Tennant and Tate, so adding the long-awaited return of Wilf will make things all the better (especially since I had no interest in the second set with Billie Piper). I need this set in my life right now! 3.1 No Place by James Goss It's Haunted Makeovers! The home improvement show with a spooky twist. The Noble family are hoping to cast out a few spirits along with the old bathroom suite, as presenter Justin joins Donna, Wilf, Sylvia and the Doctor for the latest edition of his reality TV series. Of course, Justin knows that any supernatural phenomena can be faked. Ghosts can't possibly be real. Can they..? 3.2 One Mile Down by Jenny T Colgan Donna and the Doctor take a holiday - in the beautiful underwater city of Vallarasee. Things have changed since the Doctor last swam through it: Vallarasee is now enclosed inside an airdome. Judoon patrol historic sites, and instead of tourists wearing helmets to breathe, the native Fins are forced to adapt. But leaks have begun to trickle into the dome, and the Doctor and Donna must convince the Judoon that disaster is imminent. Or else thousands will be trapped, as the waters rise... 3.3 The Creeping Death by Roy Gill London, 1952, and a deadly smog envelops the capital. But something even more dangerous - and alien - is hiding within the mists. When the Doctor and Donna get lost in the fog, they find a motley group of Londoners trying to make their way home. Soon the stakes are raised, as death creeps along fume-choked streets, and not everyone will make it out alive....
I didn't mind the Billie Piper set, but yeah, Catherine Tate is something worth getting excited about. May 2019 is a bit of a wait, though.
For most of the last ten years, I've thought that The Doctor, the Widow, and the Wardrobe would have been a dozen times better if Cyril were Wilf, so the story is about Wilf's childhood and his parents. From the moment Cyril looks through his telescope at the beginning, my brain screamed "Wilf!" The Wilf story I really want is an 11/Wilf story, post-End of Time, where the Doctor reassures Wilf that everything is okay, that Wilf doesn't need to carry any guilt over what happened.
Trailer dropped on YouTube... Sadly, as my hearing deteriorates more with age, the less I am able to enjoy audio dramas. The dialogue, sound effects and music are just too much to follow. I already need sub-titles for television viewing.
Damn, that sucks. I don't look forward to that myself, considering my hearing has always sucked. I forgot this set was coming out soon. Looking forward to it although I'm not sure quite when I'll be listening to it.
Just ordered it, although I'd prefer they didn't keep using Tate. I just can't stand her. Mind you, Cribbins more than makes up for it...
The bonus features for the deluxe edition include storyboards done for the stories as if they were going to be made into television episodes. As for Catherine Tate, Donna is my favorite of all the modern companions.
Oh, that's pretty cool! I still need to order this one. Sooo many great things to watch, listen, read, etc. and yet so little time!
