Benji - and other nostalgic childhood movies

Anyone else love this little movie as much as I do? I watched it over and over growing up. I think it contributed to my desire to have a dog.

I'm sitting watching it on Hulu right now, and just overflowing with nostalgic "awwww." :adore: It's full of 70s cheese and ham acting, and I love every minute of it. The dogs are so cute! The kids and adults are all such lame actors, and I don't care one bit because I love it all so much.

I've got a whole list of movies like this, that I love unreasonably and unconditionally. If I saw them today I'd probably find them annoying, but there's a huge nostalgia factor involved.

What are YOUR childhood movie fixations? :)

I've got plenty of great childhood movie memories:

Adventures in Babysitting
Back to the Future
The Chipmonks Movie
Ernest Goes to Camp
Explorers
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Ghostbusters
The Goonies
The Parent Trap
Transformers: The Movie

Heh, I just found a collection of all the Benji movies on one dvd at the 5 dollar bin in Wally World, just had to get it. Haven't popped it in yet as I fear watching it will diminish my memories of it from childhood. That seems to happen a lot to me these days.

Benji was the first film that I wanted to be taken to see at the cinema. I remember asking my parents to take me for my birthday. I seem to recall there was some sort of mess up and I never got to see it. Then there was Dibgy, another shaggy dog story. I remember it was my friend who wanted to see that one. Same era, though.
