Beloved episodes you hate/Reviled episodes you love

It's hard for me to unsee that in "The Empath" McCoy isn't swinging back and forth, rather the camera is zooming in and out.

I've got a soft spot in my heart for "Spock's Brain", sure it's dumb but it's fun-dumb. Besides, where else can you see the gang wearing shock-collar, chastity belts?
Agreed.

One episode I dislike that everybody loves is "City on the Edge of Forever". I don't get it. Whats so great about Shatner and Joan Collins mooning over each other for an hour?

One episode I like that everybody hates is "The Alternative Factor". What's not to like? Its (loosely) a parrallel universe story, although I was disappointed that we didn't get to see the Enterprise crew orbiting Lazarus' planet when Kirk went into the antimatter universe.

Like many have mentioned, I'm not a huge fan of "The Trouble With Tribbles". I really enjoyed it as a kid but generally find the lighter tone of season 2 to be wearisome now (I'm looking at you "A Piece Of The Action").

Season 3 isn often considered sub-par, but I still find lots to love. "Spectre Of The Gun" remains in my personal top 5 TOS episodes because it's a great ensemble episode, it's got a great premise, the minimal sets are fantastic and I still get a thrill during the final showdown when the bullets destroy the fence behind the characters. That effect, on its own, remains one of my favorites because it is so simple and yet so effective.

"The Way To Eden" has really grown on me too. When I first saw it in the early 1970's in syndication, I thought the youth culture thing was too "on the nose". Now, it almost feels nostalgic as I become more of a pacifist in my later years. Also, I really like the songs which I think are quite charming!

Do you mean the Mirror Enterprise or a yet as unspecified Enterprise from the other Lazarus's universe?

I like to think that maybe in this reality there wasn't a USS Enterprise! Imagine how awkward the story would have been with two Kirks wandering about the place as well as say two Spocks as well? The story was all about Lazarus and not the crew of the Enterprise outside of their interactions with him! But I used to wander years back if another Enterprise was firing upon his craft in the other universe as well! :techman:

Beloved that I don't like: "The Devil in the Dark" and "Arena", too cheesy (with the former at times smug), boring/stretched-out, some of the very few that feel too dated. Also, if it is beloved, "Shore Leave" felt way too long and crazy/pointless.

Reviled that I like: "The Gamesters of Triskellion" and "A Private Little War", I think they're disliked mostly because of people disapproving of Kirk's actions but I think they're meant to be controversial and are far from outrageous (and also the skimpy outfits/titillation, which at least is far from unique to those episodes), also "The Omega Glory" as a guilty pleasure and "The Way to Eden" is OK.
