Behind the scenes screenshots & video preview from the Dvd/Blu-ray

Those are some cool pics!
I can't WAIT for this movie to come out on disk! And yes MORE GAILA MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE!

And yes MORE GAILA MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE!

And as far as that one goes, I think we can now see that she wasn't given her green skin using CGI as many were saying so far.

Don't be too sure- that shade of green isn't the rich shade she has on screen, and one of the CG effects companies at the time (I forget which, three months on!) lists her skin tone among their credits on the film.

Hmm, maybe they used both methods then. Though I don't see why, if they went to the trouble of painting her also.
The skin tone we see onscreen would vary and depend on the lighting too. And perhaps what we see here is not Gaila with the final paint on her face.

I just find this really cute

It was established that Gaila was painted; Chris Pine remarked about it in an interview, that it was coming off on him. He sympathized with Rachel over the process.

Ugh, I hate photobucket. All those flash banners always make my PC screech to a halt.

But the pictures themselves are very nice!

Quite sexy.

 How cute! She never looked that cute in the movie...

I think it's so strange that the green Orion chick looks so different in those close up pictures then in the movie (and those other pictures of her). Perhaps it's the eyebrows? Or perhaps green's just not her color.

Salvor to the rescue!

I was kind of hoping you'd turn up with some screencaps.

I think what Rachel Nichols is talking about in the clip is the reason they decided on going with the CG green: too much of the green full-body makeup job kept ending up on Pine and not on Nichols where it was supposed to be. They probably reached a point where they were having reshoot too many shots spoiled by wandering makeup and said "There has to be another way to do this."

Firefox + noscript and your troubles will be over...and not just with photobucket

I know, but I turn it off sometimes... Until sites like photobucket force me to crash my Firefox (due to it not responding any longer) and enable it before re-opening the tabs. But thank you for the tip. :)

Hehe, I would have done them sooner M' but I was off for a couple of days getting some sea and sun :)

By the way, do you remember where this CG green Gaila was mentioned ? I can't seem to find an interview or link to it.

^ Yeah, that's a really nice shot.

You were slacking, then? :p

I don't remember, offhand, but I'll do some poking around if I get time and see what turns up.

Script management really is the way to go, any more. There's just too much nasty stuff out there which wants to run on your computer without your permission, and NoScript permits you to determine exactly what you will allow and what you will not. A lot of the time the ads would be fine if could just turn off this little obnoxious bit here, and this way, you can. :)
