Has anyone seen or even heard of this movie? It's a small movie that mainly played at film festivals and had limited releases here and there.
Basically it's a world where Freddy, Jason, Michael, Chucky, etc., are real, but people only know them as serial killers or a series of killings that took place, nothing supernatural. And it's about a documentary filmmaking crew who follows around someone who looks up to Freddy and Jason and wants to be the next legendary killer.
The premise is good but the execution is average to below average. There are, however, a ton of jokes regarding horror movies -- like using sensory deprivation tanks to lower your heart rate so you can appear to be dead, heavy calisthenics so you can catch up to people running away without needing to catch your breath and also because you're just walking when they're running, and pointing out how stoners are going to be slower and not much fun to go after unless you're just looking to up your numbers.
They show how he gets doors to scarily slam shut with fishing wire, how he sabotages potential weapons ahead of time so that they won't be effective (since, logistically speaking, he's at a disadvantage), faking news articles to make the mark think he or she has a connection to the killer, and so forth.
And it even has Robert Englund playing the Donald Pleasence part.
