Several of the series forums have threads devoted to adoration of particular characters. That's what this thread is. All things Kirk and Spock! And some Quinto and Pine on the side..



Because.. you know.. we love them.

I'm kicking this off with my favorite JJ K/S video. This forum has sorely needed a video thread because there is some great stuff out there of this crew :)

I have never viewed their relationship as sexual but Kirk and Spock have the greatest platonic love in fantasy history may be second only to Frodo and Sam from lord of the rings.

When I was 18 I was going somewhere in London on a train and I was sitting across from a very nerdy American lad of my acquaintance. I told him I had dreamed I was hanging out with him and eating an apple the night before and he them proceeded to inform me that Freud wrote that if you dream you are eating an apple with someone you are full of unrequited lust for them. This is still the nerdiest pick up line I have ever gotten.

I'm pretty sure it was complete bullshit. He fancied himself a student of the dark arts and at one point told me my birth date indicated that he and I were the most sexually charged chart of any he had seen. He used to prattle about Alistair Crowley a lot. This is all a very long time ago now, I wish I could remember his name (so I could facebook stalk him).

Anyway..

I find it completely hot how they did all these interviews together, buddy interviews just like we had the ultimate buddy movie.

Maybe, but Freud did consider putting stuff in your mouth a sexual thing.

And apples -are- the forbidden fruit. ;)

Speaking of food.. it's interesting how this movie is so well cast that even their chests are similar. Kirk has the smooth, hairless chest which we see in both TOS and ST:XI and Quinto has chest hair on par with Nimoy's though we sadly don't see Quinto shirtless. Nimoy we see shirtless in Patterns of Force.

Anyway.. here's Spock with and without pie, but equally without shirt.

The colours and stuff are a bit too much, but the blending of oldTrek and nuTrek is wonderfully done.
