Be on a Commentary Track

2 Entertain is asking fans to contribute questions and be on a commentary track for one of three upcoming dvds.

2entertain's @classicdw Twitter feed is running an exciting opportunity for fans to feature on upcoming DVD commentaries! Simply record your question along with your name and where you're from (city / town only - no addresses!). And upload it to this group: http://me.lt/1o0L6

We'll pick our favourites and feature them in upcoming commentary recordings. The ACTUAL RECORDINGS! Hear your voice on a DVD. :-)

Entrants must by over 18. Please ensure you speak slowly and clearly.

The stories we're asking for your questions on are HAPPINESS PATROL, GREATEST SHOW IN THE GALAXY and DRAGONFIRE. Get thinking! Submissions close 22 April 2011. Good luck!

Dragonfire is when Mel departs, Ace joins the cast, and Patricia "Magenta" Quinn guest-stars.

These are some of WHO's more oddball stories. DRAGONFIRE of course introduces Ace, gets rid of Mel and is part of season 24, probably classic Who's worst season :(. Still, it had some decent FX (Kane's melting and some of the model work rivals Trial of a Time Lord's opening IMO) and Mccoy's speech to Kane has a hint of his later approach to the character.

Happiness Patrol and Greatest Show, as I and others have mentioned before in some other threads, are pretty much intended as allegory. Happiness Patrol is pretty much about politics, and Greatest Show about BBC and the fans. So they're both kind of like The Love and Monsters of their day.

Would be nice to know who's doing the commentary tracks. Probably a safe bet that Syl and Sophie are going to be on most if not all three of them, but what about Bonnie Langford? Has she done any commentary tracks yet?

Apparently we know now

No Sylvester or Bonnie as the out of the country.

Dragonfire
Sophie Aldred, Ian Briggs, Edward Peel, Andrew Cartmel, Chris Clough, Dominic Glynn, moderated by Mark Ayres

The Happiness Patrol
Sophie Aldred, Graeme Curry, Andrew Cartmel, Dominic Glynn, Chris Clough, moderated by Toby Hadoke

The Greatest Show In The Galaxy
Alan Wareing, Sophie Aldred, Mark Ayres, Stephen Wyatt, Jessica Martin, Andrew Cartmel, moderated by Toby Hadoke

Bonnie lives and works in the USA these days. She's on the Time And The Rani commentary.

Weird DVD fact. Mel is the only classic companion to have her first story released first, and last story released last!

Ah, right, Syl is probably in New Zealand doing wizardly things...

Thanks for the update.

'Tis a shame that Sylv isn't going to be on his last few DVDs. He's a great interview.

Mel is the only classic companion to have her first story released first, and last story released last!

Technically, we never got Mel's first story. :p
